1959, I was at recess in high school, someone had a new car magazine, showing the latest models.........when he showed the 1959 Chevy with its "fins"...it was amazing... so many years later, i still knew where i was standing and seeing that Chevy......thanks for bringing that one back to life...........👍👍

My first car was a 1961 Impala with the 235 and Powerglide. Very dependable and always started right up on those bitter cold Iowa winter mornings. My favorite Chevrolet years are 1961 to 1964. I miss the Turbo Fire v8 and the Powerglide whine in park. Thanks Ryan for bringing these old cars back to life.

58' & 61' my least favorite years of Chev. Back in the day ( early 80's) I bought a 🍒 cherry 61' 4dr Belair($200.00) for a crash car, hell runner (283ci cast iron power glide) all of a sudden the engine started squealing so pulled into the Yankton Store at night, no oil on the dip stick, bought some oil kept pouring but nothing on stick, then we noticed the large hole in the pan & several quarts on the parking lot. Man, the owner of the store was pissed off. There's more to the story, but I will stop before my comment gets too long ....

My first car I bought was a 62 Chevy Impala back in 1968, it had a 235 in it with a power glide Trans. I paid 700 dollars for it when I got my first factory job after I graduated from Mason City High in Mason City, IA.

Good progress Ryan! IF it's not too late, you might consider just listing the old radiator as is, - we both know there's guys looking for era correct parts, even if they need recored. As you said about the 61, parts is parts, it's not like you haven't done it before. Though you may want to scavenge as much for that 61 wagon!

This gas tank is so tiny in comparison to all the size of Biscayne's rear. Nice to see the Biscayne moving . And of course the hoods provide shade for the gauges at the route back like they were intended by Harley Earl back in '59

Excellent video Ryan :) also nice Gold working excellent to and Green one be mint Green color on great shape both in too! Also for paper gasket seal great try sometime is get old inner tube silicone together with gasket and seal together like sandwich plus lots silicone plus gasket mender tar silcone then silicone on top and bottom gasket a help too! For head gasket or water pump or anything gasket up do 1/16 to 1/8 layers for metal sealing! Sounds weird but work excellent and I done before on my vechiles too!

I inherited a 1938 Chevy Master Deluxe. It's in great shape other than the mice. I completely gutted the interior. Vacuumed and compressed air every nuck and cranny then washed the entire inside. Dried it in the sun. But it still stinks. Now what ? The smell bothers my wife's asthma . My family is counting on me to get it on the road.
@IowaClassicCars Жыл бұрын
Most likely will need new interior to get that old smell away, or talk to an auto detailer, they may have some kind of spray thatll fix that
