I know this video has been around for 2 months already, but I wanted to mention what a great job on getting her out of the brushes and giving her a little exercise after a long rest. I don't care about people's negative thoughts about it...I think she's a beauty and hope someone can put her back on the freeway on her own power where she can make her own magic again . Gold kist logo should be saved. Adds historical character to the truck.

They sold a few of these in Great Britain. In right hand drive format, which with the offset cab pretty much put the driver in the middle of the truck.

Hey Wily, that lizard is an anole, very common in the south. My father worked at Mack trucks Allentown for 35 years, retired in 1973. I grew up around Macks. He was in charge of road testing team. Back in the day when they actually road tested every truck off the line, before dynamometers. He would bring a new Mack home on occasion for his lunch break. every kid in the neighborhood would be running to my father for a ride. The most popular trucks when I was a kid, B series, R and U and later F series. I used to drive at the time a new 1973 Mack F series firetruck V8, Maxidyne, 5 speed for Emmaus Volunteer Fire Dept, outside of Allentown, PA. what a blast to drive. Those were the days! Love your videos!

It would be great to find one of those in that condition. Anything within 12,000 miles of here ends up in a breakers yard. They pay stupid prices for tractors and wreck them for parts in a manner that puts every part on a shelf for those type of parts. All inventoried. Any junk gets sent to the smelter. Pretty concentrated matter earning a living in this region and once you begin making a crust at something it's foolhardy to stop doing it. It all relies on connections with the right people to make anything self employed, function. Always liked the R series. Drove an FC 8x4 Mack for a while. They're a basket of a thing but it's fun to do for a while. Started like you parked it yesterday .
