This video is me going through a vintage Craftsman 2.0 chainsaw. Model is 358.352150. It has the "power sharp" feature where it can sharpen its own chain on the fly. Thanks for watching!

When my grandfather passed away , he left me his old sears craftsman chainsaw with the auto sharpener, that was 40 years ago i still have it. But my real pride and joy is a 42 cc craftsman chainsaw, the carb. was meant to last a lifetime, diaphragm so much thicker , it will never wear out , it sat in a mans garage for 35-40 years he used it once after the first hurricane we had here in florida charlie . He really was a nice guy he ran and owned his own electrical business. His son came down from up north he left everything to him big mistake his son moved everything out front for garbage man. Lucky i was around, to salvage several running pieces of equipment. I Don't keep them for the value i keep them around to remind everyone of simpler times , when we didn't need to worry about being nuked by a maniac, and fuel was 50 60 cents a gallon, and less and the gov. wasn't allowing a million or so people in the country illegally every 6 months , and now paying them money our money . Biden just doesn't care he knows as soon as his time is up he is going to prison or at least should , i believe he sold us out.

When starting the saw on cement I would put a piece of rug down to keep the saw from getting all tore up underneath.

I PUT ALL NEW FUEL LINE IN MINE AND A NEW FILTER BE CAREFUL THE FUEL LINE ISN'T PINCHED IN THE HANDEL, ONE single strand of line is best, i think i had to prime mine dumping a straw full of gas in carb. a few times, a new carb is around under 10 dollars for sure, no primer ball no return line, simpler times. Being retired has opened up eyes to all the things that i missed out on i was busy for 44 years , family practitioner, physician, working on small engines is soon to be a lost trade, the world is moving into the electronic zone, no need for gasoline mechanics anymore, thank you for the video.

The computer kids can't remove broken studs or work around rust.

I have no old craftsman 14" chainsaw model 358-352070. I think it needs a new carb. Can you tell me what walbro carb. replaces it. The parts sheet says it is a wa-19 carb.

I tried looking up the model and couldn't find any cross reference for that carb. The only option is to find one used online, or get a rebuild kit for the one you have.

I'm almost certain you can't. Too old. You may be able to buy or make new diaphragm parts though.

soak diaphram in brake fluid a few days will be good.

I've heard that! I'm nervous about that though....I've also heard it only works temporarily and will kind of degrade the rubber. I don't know...but I'm willing to give it a try! Thanks for the comment.

@@DavidWeidner10 also to clean the tiny ports in the carb use 14kt gold acid testing solution,., it boils the gunk out,, rinse with carb cleaner., wear gloves and goggles. .
