Even if we don't get Bionicle back because of the whole "it's so identical to Ninjago" thing, I would at least accept something like how Hero Factory was. Something that is extremely similar to Bionicle, but it isn't to have a distinction between it and Hero Factory.

Just noticed that the photo of you with the LEGO set at the vault is right in front of the 1999 Star Wars stuff, where 7110 Landspeeder was kind of like the first set I have really good memories of, and then there's 7171 Mos Espa Podrace, which is one of my favorite sets of all time and that's actually in the picture. The only way I see bionicle coming back is if it had its own standout gimmick. Ninjago has dragons and mechs, dreams has multiple builds in one set, I think its best chance is to take the Glatorians health counter and Thornax launchers and refine them into a proper game the theme can be associated with. But that's just my take.

My dream would be a really well made bionicle ARPG with optional co-op that has a long road map. New sets would coincide with major dlc updates and sets would get you perks in game. Ethically the perks would be mostly cosmetics. Obviously an extremely expensive endeavour but my god if it works...

If Bionicle were to have returned using Technic parts, I don't think that they would use the large, pre-made greebled limb pieces, but rather, a bunch of Technic parts with panels that have stickered greebles.

The newer bionicle sets have interesting pieces as new additions however #1 I despise the way the new masks/heads work, it took the versatility out of it as well as I just don’t like it. 2 the hero’s I think are good but the villains make no sense. They have super broad shoulders, thin limbs, and those beast have way to big of heads for being as tall or shorter than the good guys. They just weren’t executed well. I hope they make another return though, a little more thought out with a dash more love I dare say

The most probable way for bionicle to comeback is in the new system character builds used in alot of the superhero sets. I would ideally want them to be smaller and use the mixeld joints to be cheaper

They have the molds for bricks. Theyve built a brick tahu. They could at least make the rest of the toa mata as an anniversary wave. Theres doing system sets based on it too. And as far as getting buyers who arent old school bionicle fans is concerned they can make a movie or mini series to generate hype

The issue is there’s no perfect way to do Bionicle now. Bringing back old CCBS or original Bionicle parts is too expensive, making a new system would take years (same way hero factory slowly evolved CCBS until it was ready for Bionicle), and while bricks/SCCBS is possible, it would 100% piss off a lot of existing Bionicle fans. People couldn’t handle G2 being made out of hero factory parts, system would make them explode. (Side note- I understand why someone would hate system Bionicle, I just don’t)

They should think of Bionicle as a transformers type of series, a series that goes past it's product marketing, and on to entertainment for slightly older audiences, I mean we already have a g1 and g2, and g2 being less loved, guess what just like transformers, imo this can be the future

I think the buildable marvel and dc characters are going to be the new Bionicle. Bionicle is a buildable figure that can be used to create custom figures while let's say the batman buildable figure is a figure that is made of Lego and can be used to create custom figures. Bionicle isn't gone, it's like that mixles theme that introduced easier cost-effective buildable figures. It left a mark that can't be deleted such as how mixles allowed many, many easier ways to create figurines such as the Star Wars mechs in 2024. I think that Bionicle inspired the buildable dc and marvel characters so I wouldn't be surprised if that line began to get more custom molds thus creating an essential generation 3 to Bionicle, gen 1 being pure Bionicle, gen 2 being hero factory and now present day with buildable batman and others as gen 3.

Bionicle is not coming back. The financial compromise Lego needs to make to bring it back it's beyond their current vision. Not only that but they also have to invest heavily into quality content for storytelling and marketing.

i'd love to see bionicle remade with system. they really dropped the ball with the tahu they released but i think it has a ton of potential without doing too many new molds, even on a small scale like invasion from below. About anime: if you haven't seen "eminence in shadow", it's an absolutely wonderful isekai that is NOT a harem. it's a parody on the genre that becomes incredibly apparent after episode two. i hate to say "oh you have to watch this much of a show" but it doesn't really pick up in the first episode. so highly recommend to any readers. always a joy to hear someone talk about something they are so passionate about. thanks for they upload.

I don't think we'll get a G3. For one, G2 did poorly. For another, building techniques have continued in the brick direction. Mixels, Nexo Knights, Ninjago and the assorted Mech have advance the building techniques using more brick system pieces than technic or Bionicle specific parts. Finally, Lego still has this adult collector bubble to ride out. When you make an $800 Millennium Falcon set and the sucker not only sells, but sells out, you're going to ride that as far as you can before look for something else. But it won't last forever. At some point, adults will fill up their shelves, get satisfied and retire from collecting. That's when Lego will return to making sets for children. It will take some time.
