I was a welder at an airboat shop in orange Tx a couple months back. The owner took me for a ride on his supercharged 427 airboat. I don’t know why I thought airboats were slow and couldn’t handle lol. Some of them get crazy! Ready for the “restoration” uploads to come back!

Welcome back, I enjoy watching you do the upgrades. But as an old guy 50+ years ago I didn't wear hearing protection either. And now days I can't hear much at all, my hearing is shot. The slow but steady loss of hearing is sad, but you start to read lips as your hearing decays. And you will never know people are talking to you if you are looking the other way, But the worst part is Tinnitus, the ringing in your ears, 24/7 . It is enough to drive you mad. So take it from an old guy, Please wear hearing protection, those boat are so loud and the guy with the small block doesn't care about his hearing or his family's , kinda sad.

Like every other follower who has commented on your restoration videos, I have repeatedly said that they're truly GREAT, and I wish you had time to do even more of them. But here's a strong recommendation that's specific to your air boat: Your hearing is a critical part of your work, and more than once, I've watched and listened to you diagnosing engine problems by the sounds you're hearing. At the risk of coming across as some kind of paranoid health freak, I have to say that running your air boat without good hearing protection will severely affect your ability to detect subtle engine noises in the future. If you don't believe me, simply Google the decibels produced by air-boat engines and then check at what levels sound will start destroying your hearing. I speak from experience: I have lost 30% of my ability to detect high-frequency noises, which is NOT good. It now affects me when I'm listening to normal conversations, TV shows, etc. I mention this problem only because I care about and admire you and your work. Best, Chris (in Maine)

Let me tell ya friend..I've watched a lot of videos of boat restorations...and yours by far are the best on KZbin, and...you are so good at what you do it totally blows me away at what you do to the boats and the final finished product . I got thrown out of an airboat at high speed when we hit some sticky mud. I was surrounded by gators on all sides. Thank God, I'm always packing a firearm. I was stranded in shallow water for 10 minutes while trying to stand still and not attract the gators. I now fear airboats.

When I saw the title, I thought this was the OLD airboat. This one is a nice one!!!! (The old one was fine, but you know what I mean.) BTW, love the forklift. I have the Nissan 50, but would have rather have the slightly smaller 30 for what I do. I need to covert it over to pneumatic tires though. Right now, I am working on replacing hydraulic lines and seals every few months, lol
