Its a weird thing... But us brits don't like/use table saws. If we need to cut a straight edge we clamp a straight edge to the surface and run a circular saw or jigsaw against it. Quite frankly we don't trust those deathtraps prefering instead to use small children to support the cut end! :p (true story ;) )

@@boli2746 Interesting. I had heard that things like dado blades were outright illegal in European countries, but I didn't realize table saws themselves were looked at with disfavor. Correct me if I'm wrong, but when the contact point of the dynamo is on the outer edge of the wheel, then the diameter of the wheel is irrelevant. The speed at that point of the wheel will equal the speed of the axle relative to a point on the interfacing surface (the ground, or the tread belt in this case). You'll get the same output from the dynamo, whether you run it straight off the road or off the edge of the tire. (This is all assuming a fixed speed, so the dog running as fast as the bike goes)

Glad to see your dog is producing power!!! The look on your face when she powered the fan was priceless, and it felt so good when she started. Also glad to see she can stop it herself, wasn't sure before now if she could do that. (not trolling) maybe a lightbulb is a bit inaccurate in the title

maybe. LED? I don't work electricity, but if the dog could power an LED strip, maybe it could power a (slightly higher voltage) LED bulb?

maybe connect some gears to the dynamo so the dog doesnt have to run full speed to generate electricity.
@Sparky20Simulation
@Sparky20Simulation 2 жыл бұрын
That's a great idea! Only thing I can think of is if turning more gears would increase load, but if you did the gearing right you could probably multiply the output by a considerable amount, and probably make it take less speed from the dog to make the same amount of power.

I really liked the music choices in the B roll in this video. Very good choices. Incredible and unique. It fit in well with the technological metalworking / engineering theme of the video. Keep up the great work!

Cost versus cost. At the end of the day doing it yourself provides You with video content! Sponsors! Viewership! KZbin monetization continues!. You may only be breaking even on material cost and in the hole for all the other costs but the other costs are supported by the benefits of providing content for your KZbin channel. Not to mention we find it entertaining and times that ain't all that entertaining. So thank you for the extra cost the extra time and for having two dogs who need exercising:-)

An old machinist once told me that instead of single point threading a bar or using a die, it is better to drill and tap a hole for a threaded stud to be put into. You still get external threads, but it is faster and more repairable.
