I think Gareths was clearly the best. The way he mixed colors to tell a story, the way the candy canes support the inner walls of the house, symbolizing security and peace in the building. The white ground was brilliant because he was careful not to go overboard with the white, yet reminding us of a white Christmas. The marshmallows in the house show us that he isn’t afraid to take big chances. They show us the need for something big in the house with out tearing it apart from the inside. The many trees show us that having friends is important, and that we need to believe in life and keep moving forward

Gareth won in my opinion... Hear me out.... It's the most relatable... How many years have YOU gone and attempted to build a gingerbread house and ended up just eating a pile of crumbling gingerbread covered in hallway set icing that was supposed to be glue? .... Gareth is the layman ...he represents all of us, and damn he did us proud! Unlike some of the contestants who may have attempted to rig the voting, he came into this with nothing but a fiery competitiveness and gave it his absolute all knowing he was vastly outmatched. And yet the Christmas spirit run over his piece and with it he was able to erect a sturdy monument of gingerbread on behalf of the rest of us laymen. Gareth stood as our champion today and for that effort I would like to submit that HE is the victor.

Plus he kindly left the roof open so we could see Inside, and added a chimney where some others didn't so those occupants would freeze. Even granny. He could have made furniture inside. But it's filled with bean bag chairs, providing lots of snacks before you eat the walls proper. Seems like a Red Riding Hood theme or a three little pigs theme could have worked too. Or Jen's classic witch. It's a tough call

@tonyterpstra49223 жыл бұрын
I love that everyone took a different strategy-- Jenn's goal: Win the "Classic" vote by creating the gingerbread house that looks the most like "what a gingerbread house is supposed to look like." Murray's goal: Win the "Artistic" vote by creating the most beautiful holiday/winter scene using gingerbread house materials. Jazza's goal: Win the "Popular" vote by choosing a theme that's already proven to be popular with key audiences (i.e., MJ and KZbin subscribers). (choosing competitors with less art experience doesn't hurt either.) Gareth's goal: Win the "Sympathetic" vote by being the person people want to vote for. No gingerbread skills required. Gareth's gingerbread house certainly wasn't the best, but for some reason I want to see him win. I guess his strategy worked. Well played, Gareth. 👏🏻

Hear me out... Gareth wins because not only does it express a lot of emotion, but it contains something for everyone. The classic gingerbread house and Olaf which is a popular character well liked by many children around the globe. While it is ascetically pleasing, it also provides utility. Clearly the hole in the roof filled with candy is a very creative way to make a candy bowl that guests who are admiring this work of art, can snack on to further improve the effect. Gareth also put the most Christmas spirit into his house, because he was watching Christmas movies during the time he had to give him inspiration for his design.

I think Murrey’s is the best, I love the details from the landscape with small hills with trees, to the roof with small details on the ends, and what can only be assumed to be a river

Okay, can we just acknowledge the fact that Jazza's poetry was off the charts! That was just amazing!

How can you not go with Garrett’s dedication to perfection?

I think they were all great, but I’m agreeing with those voting for Gareth. He is the only non-artist of the 4 and still did an excellent job. Merry Christmas everyone! 🎄🎁☃️🎅🏽

Yep. Murrey's long house has my vote. A close second is Jen's. Don't know if you've ever seen them, but the magazine, Good Housekeeping, used to have an annual ginger bread house competition. Some of them were simply amazing. Wish I could send you pictures of the pages I've kept.

I have to say that I really like Jen's house, it looks more in line with the holiday spirit and it's really clean cut compared to the others.
