If your tinnitus is caused by loud noise, my story might be helpful. I had very annoying tinnitus for two years and tried everything: sound therapy, GABA, Ginkgo Biloba, vitamin D, neck massage, quitting coffee, sleeping well, and more. Nothing worked. Then, I went camping for four weeks. My tinnitus started improving after the first week and was 95% gone around the third week. The reason? No headphones, car music, loud TV noise, morning alarms, or phone calls. Even small/ridiculous changes, like avoiding phone-to-ear calls, made a big difference. I’m not saying go camping, but: Avoid all kinds of headphones, watch TV at a moderate volume, stop listening to music in the car, use speakerphone for calls instead of holding the phone to your ear, keep the phone away from your bed if you set an alarm. And good news, you don’t have to quit these forever-just give your ears a break. You’ll be back to normal, knowing how to protect your ears If you try this, please come back and share your experience so others can learn more.

Atm i dont have tinnitus but my father and my grandmother had tinnitus and i am scared that i might get tinnitus as i get older... Can i avoid getting tinnitus by listening sound therapy while working or doing normal day time jobs? so i can learn to habituate or prepare for tinnitus. Coz of tinnitus my dad is really sick since he couldnt sleep and stops eating food causing him major gastric, chest pain from anxiety and other health related issues.

Protecting your ears from extensive noise exposure (i.e. concernts, sporting events, firearms etc) is the one way you can try to prevent tinnitus. Unfortunately, some people will develop tinnitus without having damage to their ears. Listening to sound therapy now will not prevent tinnitus in the future.

For those outside the states what kind of ear devices can we use for sound therapy?
@treblehealth2 ай бұрын
We recommend bone conduction headphones, like Shokz, because they allow your ear canals to stay open so you can hear ambient sounds.

Will it be the same time (6 months) period to habituate if you had tinnitus for 16years
@treblehealth2 ай бұрын
Everyones habituation period is different. Habituation can take anywhere from 6 to 24 months. Your success is not based on how long you've had tinnitus

We're so sorry to hear how long you've been dealing with tinnitus. We recommend following up with your ENT doctor and Audiologist to get a baseline hearing test and discuss vertigo. They can recommend further testing to determine the underlying cause for the vertigo. We'd be happy to discuss your tinnitus futher with you. Alcohol may temporarily mask the tinnitus or alter your perception of it. However, it's important to be cautious, as alcohol can also potentially worsen tinnitus over time or affect your overall health.
