What's best for society trumps whats best for Ezra and It would be throwing the book at him to deter other players getting on the gear and driving. Why is it the NRLs job to do what's best for Mam. He made his choice. Does he deserve a second chance, sure, but only after suffering the consequences of his choices.

Get absolutely fucked if you think he spend half a season working construction and maintaining his contract.

Hate to sound like a Karen but Ezra should be de registered 100%, how many kids coming through the ranks would of been cut for far less, a broken hip for a 4 year old is crazy caused by straight up delinquent behaviour, a line needs to be drawn going forward for future players this surely cannot be accepted.
@cameronwalker6517Ай бұрын
Unfortunately for Ezra, I feel he has to be made an example of. Over the last few seasons we’ve seen multiple players get caught doing drugs (which isn’t necessarily a rugby league problem, as much as it’s a society problem) but these players wether they like it or not are role models for their communities and Ezra’s actions have undoubtedly changed a young girls life forever, as well as seriously damaging the image of the game and it’s standing in Australian sports landscape. The line in the sand has to be drawn, if you’re caught now, it’s not going to be a 1 or 2 game suspension it’s going to be a lot more serious than that.
@theflyingcircusmen3726Ай бұрын
Why are you so adamant that the family forgives Ezra? Driving on drugs, without a license, and hit them head on. It’s not like he made a small mistake, he made several big mistakes and should face the consequences

Kempy looking out for his broncos boy that’s all it is, why should a family forgive ezra? Kempy has a 1 year old child and him even saying that should be embarrassing. Whether right or wrong it looks like the court of public opinion has declared Mam guilty of horrible things, & he is going to get booed every time he walks onto a footy field Adam Goodes style (I know they are completely different scenarios). I honestly reckon the best thing for him is to step himself down for 12 months, train, and go do community work. He can then come back and, although this incident will never leave him, he might be able to move on with his career… If he misses 10 games then comes back, he will still be getting booed 5 years from now, it will never leave him. But if takes the other option I outlined above he may find some small forgiveness from punters and enjoy a decent career… personally I reckon he should have the book thrown at him, but if the nrl and/or broncos don't, he should do it himself for his own good...

The wallabies have definitely turned a corner its a mixture of the new coaching staff, players gaining experience and the new generation coming through. The up and coming players have been part of successful Australian u20's and schoolboys teams five years ago these same players are starting to do it on the world stage as they hit their mid twenties. Keeping this core of players for the next few years could definitely see them peak hopefully in time for the home world cup. Also they are playing Scotland this weekend at Murrayfield which will be a great marker for much they have turned the corner.

3 players have been caught driving with cocaine in their system this season alone. Respectfully mate giving them slaps on the wrist, telling them to apologise and do speeches where they pretend they regret it isn’t working. It’s going to keep happening until eventually we don’t see someone injured, we see someone dead It’s not about Mam. It’s about this being an issue at large in the NRL, Coke use is everywhere. Only way to change that is to set a precedent and throw the book at Mam and any other player who posts white bags on their social media pages this off season. The NRL especially lately has completely trivialised cocaine use, I’m not sure how as a parent you could encourage your child to go into rugby league when every few months we are getting these stories
@jaycee57129 күн бұрын
100 percent correct, the NRL has a cocaine issue that they keep trying to downplay saying it's a societal problem. If 4 players in one year got caught how many aren't getting caught. Lack of leadership by the NRL letting the clubs handle issues that affect the game If someone is killed by an NRL player under the influence of drugs the NRL will have blood on their hands for not identifying and solving the problem.
@ashp1811Ай бұрын
A 4 year old with a fractured hip is essentially signed up for a lifetime of chronic pain, which can lead to a lot of mental health issues. The best thing for Ezra's development is to understand that his actions have consequences. He needs to be humbled. His contact has to be torn up, and he has to be deregistered for a year. He can do all the community service and manual labour then, if he manages to avoid jail time. But yes, if he does all that, he should be allowed to return to the game

Interesting about the Raiders, they're similar to the Titans in regards to talent at a specific position. Owen Pattie (guru is very high on), Shaun Packer has played flegg (QLD U19), Xavier Cacciotti is Australian schoolboy who I saw score 4 in a Andrew Johns Cup Final also SG Ball players player. Mitch Brophy developing as well. So they're hoping any one of those 4 can be the guy ahead of Levi, Starling these sorts of guys.

For Beaks Bag: with the recent discussion on the kick off and head highs, do you think part of the problem is that legs tackles aren’t rewarded as a dominant tackle? For me, the point of defensive is to shut down the play as quick as possible and a legs tackle does that but with the referees current interpretation the defender needs to roll away straight away. I understand players can still get concussed with legs tackles

I think the tigers 'leaking' issue with this fitness stuff is good PR too imo as a tigers fan so im fine with it from that angle. Fitness at the tigers has been a problem for a long time and last season it basically got to a boiling point with how bad our fitness was. So this is a way to show standards are changing along with the whole club changing in recent times and shows fans that we are actually taking fitness seriously finally and I'm sure all tigers fans are happy with this 'leak' 🤷♂️ could of easily been deliberately leaked to show the positive change in the club

The only reason Mam isn't sacked by Broncos is probably because of his potential as a footy player and also lack of quality depth in the halves, especially with Reynolds at the end of his career too. A lesser player or less important 100% gets sacked, simple as that and arguably probably still should of been. Look at Addo-Carr too getting sacked and Mam's incident was more serious than that. Completely unacceptable what Mam did just in society. If that was on the news too, just some random rich kid nobody knew, driving without a license and drugged up, who did what Mam did, then of course everyone would be outraged at him 🤷♂️ There's no excuse for that behaviour and needs the book thrown at him and to deter others for doing similar. Although it should be obvious to not break multiple laws and putting other people at risk too by your decsions 🤷♂️ Never ceases to amaze me how dumb people can be though, especially athletes. You spend probably your whole life getting to where Mam is as a footy player and then decide to do dumb stuff like this to jeopardise it all 🤦♂️
