Back in the early 70's my old Mentor made us some 16" long semi-loaded loaded peacock wagglers to combat the wind tow on our local reservoir. Used to give the maggots a light spray with an atomiser then sprinkle Horlicks on them which worked a treat. After many tangles I eventually learned how to cast them and remember we had big catches of roach and hand sized skimmers every visit. i think I've still got them in the garage somewhere in a piece of an old fiberglass rod.

The Pellet Waggler was invented (in its current guise) by a Bristol angler called Tony Rixon who started fishing it at Viaduct, everybody laughed and said it would never work. They weren’t laughing when he weighed in 150lb (venue record at the time) from Campbell lake and left everybody else looking like a chip shop sausage and here we are today…

Gold valley has been spoilt for pleasure anglers by all the f1s that have been introduced. Ok...its a business, I get that but seriously over rated. And all the goose crap all over the place....needs a serious clean up.
