Will Shadow Be "Him" In Sonic Movie 3?

*This is a single trailer.* They won't give away a major plot point in the first or (hopefully) any trailers. Although we've had Shadow since Sonic Adventure 2, we need to remember that the Sonic movies have brought in a lot of new fans, many that have never played the Adventure games and may not know Shadow was ever a "good guy", so it'd be a nice plot twist. Also, in Sonic Adventure 2, Shadow doesn't attempt to enslave humanity, he tries to take revenge on them by destroying Earth.

The truth about Shadow, he *is* a hero, he just has an attitude problem. Keep in mind, this is adapting Adventure 2, he was a villain/antagonist, but at the end, he does turn because he realizes what Maria's promise was. This is his movie debut, and the producers made it clear they *want* to do more with the movie universe. Jeff Fowler said himself he wants to do justice to Shadow's character as he worked on the CGI visuals of his solo game. The only reason Shadow's character is difficult is because of Sega's dumb writing restrictions. However, the movie universe isn't held back by them, they have more creative freedom. So, to put it bluntly, Shadow is a hero (or Dark Hero) he just has anger issues, but after Adventure 2, he tries to be a better person. (Before the 2010s)

I think that like in SA2 Gerald Robotnik will be the true villain by being the person who caused Shadow think that revenge is what Maria wanted him to do, and make some world threatening problem happen then Shadow remembers the truth of what he's suppost to do then join the others to stop the dangerous situation that they could be in. Paramount has made it clear that they don't want spoilers to happen for that movie, so if these things will happen, that studio won't let it get revealed until the movie gets its theatrical release. Also there will be more Sonic movies because at the last part of the 2024 Sonic Central revealed that they don't want to slow down and stop making more Sonic movies yet, and they gave a hint by when having Jeff Fowler be shown standing in front of the Paramount Pictures studio building and letting a mark of "STAGE 4" on that building be visible beside one of his shoulders to tease that they've started to be working on developing the 4th Sonic movie. With him saying to look out for easter eggs.

I'm sure he's gonna help Sonic save the world in the end. Plus, I'm guessing that the main villain is going to be Prof. Gerald Robotnik, like in Sonic Adventure 2.

Normally, shadow isnt a good guy or a bad guy. Hes his own person. And he wants to get revenge for killing maria. Also, why would they show extra important parts in the movie.. he might just live in the movie. But he just stays by himself

He is a good guy, he only does bad things when he feels it needs to be done, for example: the gun agency killed maria so he got revenge because he felt it was right to get payback but later on he understood that it wasn't what maria wanted and what he's doing is wrong. It was proven in sonic prime that he actually cares about the world and he's just angry a lot because of his loss. The only times he will fight sonic is when sonic does something dumb like in prime or if egg man fools him like in sonic boom.

@@cassandrapollard3175 In that sense, Eggman is also a good guy, he just does bad things when he feels like it. Better way to think about it is Sonic and Shadow have their own morals, they're just different. Eggman also has morals, he just has poor morals compared to them.

@@IronBrandon22 you said egg man has poor morals but my point is shadow has good morals too, he wanted to end the world to show how much he loved maria but in the end he realized that's not what she wanted. Just like knuckles got tricked by egg man because knuckles thought the right thing to do was to end sonic and shadow thought it was the right thing to end the world to avenge maria and he was fully aware that he would die aswell which even shows he's willing to sacrifice himself to complete his mission and his promises

I don’t know what you’re worried about, they just don’t wanna spoil that he will become a good guy at the end of the movie But it’s kind of obvious that he will. They literally did the same thing with knuckles in the second movie. He was only fighting with sonic in the trailers.

It's only reasonable they not gonna show him being "good" in the trailer. So the mistery remains. We should wait for the second trailer, I think it will be out around 20th of October. If storyboard leaks are correct, he helps Sonic save the world in the end. (I didn't tell you this)
