I absolutely love it when Arroz ventures into the woods to find Our Gang's hang out. i love it not only because we get to watch the little ones but because every day that Arroz visits them, there is one less day that they are away from those heartbreaking cages.

I think Arroz enjoys being able to feed them the snaks he's brought, plus the babies are more inquisitive now and are watching him more when they get to romp and stomp together with new pals and and new friends. Love you Arroz, you are the best. Love from LE & JONI

@@LeRigby-mg9gsI was thinking the same thing. I love when they have a “nursery tree” where they all play together regardless of social standing. This is the one time where they are actually free. Free of social standings, free of obligation, free from carrying on their lines and food is hardly ever in short supply with AM, the feeders, the natural foliage and of course the milk bar. These babies have it good. Have you ever seen the conditions the monkeys in other place live? Cold winters, no food, snow covering or killing the foliage when winter comes. Tons of babies obviously injured or abandoned because the conditions are too harsh. Some abandoned their babies so they can live themselves. Others die trying to care for their young in the harsh conditions. Our gang is so blessed.

What are they going to die of? They can forage, they were carefully taught how and they have teeth.

There are a couple of cases of weanlings who seem to have had severe difficulties with the transition. So much so that they have disappeared around the time of weaning, never to be seen again. (See the case with Scooby, for example) So the conclusion is that some of the babies for one reason or another, are not able to cope with the weaning process, on (a possibly) emotional level... Although, there can be a number of coexisting factors (like traffic, fall etc) contributing to them disappearing! 🙂🇸🇪

I really think that at this age, gender is not a factor: they are just babies who love their milk & aren’t ready to wean. I feel guilty in saying I get a kick out of watching their antics during the weaning season.

They are also the biggest bullies of the group. Fully aware of their rank, and both sterilized, it’s an awful combination for new, maybe not so attentive mothers of the troop as they both have a taste for borrowing babies without permission. Dy, well, I’m not sure Dy is all there, even for a macaque, she might be a bit slow. That, and she’s legitimately terrifying lol😂

I really think Desirey will be the biggest female on golden hill. Weaning time is my favorite time. We get to really meet the babies for the first time. We will see them be different that they are hooked to their moms. Each has such a great personality. I like their sneaky ways to get milk. They just don’t realize them being the boss and getting what they any is almost over. Most of the time they just look at each other and the screaming is on
