What everyone tends to forget is that the ban isnt just for assaulting CR on stage The ban was also for: - Cursing inside the theater, with everyone inside the theater watching it. And then everyone watching it on TV having to witness the cursing. Again, this is a family show. - The disobeying of the Oscar security to be escorted out of the theater. - Then the Oscar having to watch WS win an Oscar, like if nothing happened - And then WS acting in the Oscar after party like if nothing happened. Every factor was taken into consideration. And then to add more, everyone loves Chris Rock. Im sure that the panel of Oscar judges were furious that someone assaulted someone they love in Chris Rock. Bottom line, even if the penalty is cut short or even if he returns to the Oscar after the 10 year penalty ends, WS will never be welcomed back with open arms like he wants to, UNLESS Chris Rock gives the thumbs up for WS to return

You cannot disrespect someone’s wife and not expect a reaction (joke was tame, but obviously they have a deeper tension which is why it’s disrespect). But you cannot physically assault someone in front of a crowd of people and not expect consequences either. Will smith is should just be happy he didn’t go to jail or face any legal repercussions. Asking to have the ban lifted just shows he really doesn’t feel any remorse for his actions other than the negative effect it’s had on his business / public opinion. 🤷🏿‍♂️
