@JazzyZenBrotha i agree with you there, but i still thought it was a good movie. the basic concept of the karate kid has been used over an over before the original was even made. i read that most of the cast called this the kung fu kid and its being advertised in asia as such. i think that ppl should look past the title and enjoy the movie. jaden smith is pretty talented and did a good job.

Nice interview. I'm glad to see Will Smith also respects the culture as well as the art form of Kung Fu.

@monkeyking32 - I already have looked past the title. I went to see it for Jackie Chan, beautiful cinematography of China, & for young Jaden & the sexy Taraji P. Henson. It had all the elements that I liked. But u & I both know that many people don't know the difference between Kung Fu & Karate. It once again let's most Americans feel that "they're the same.....Haaa Yaaaah!" But in fact the origins are different & the styles are different in function & execution. But yes it was a very good movie

@Calfullanas - I agree, just like we didn't need a remake of: The Ring, The Grudge, The Departed, The Eye, Bangkok Dangerous, The Magnificent Seven, Dark Water, Shall We Dance, Shutter, My Sassy Girl, Pulse, The Uninvited, etc.....As I mentioned, I agree. But unfortunately Hollywood doesn't care and they're only looking to capitalize off names of previous or international succesful films.
