@@trippy123 As a kid yes, Hey Hey was on Saturday morning, so yes after the show I went outside to do kids stuff. Then in '84 it moved to 6.30pm, I was around 20 then and still partying, so it was often watch Hey Hey until around 8.30 and then off to a club or pub.

I was a kid when this show was on and remember watching because they got big movie star as live guests. I never got why this show was popular but it probably had something to do with Australians being alcoholics and the time slot lol

Sometimes when I'm watching tv with mum she complains that everything that's on today is utter crap, although I tend to agree I respond "mum it's not that bad", but then I remember shows like this were on when she was younger and I understand why she feels like that. Such good wholesome lighthearted shows Australia once had
