I live in the woods of Virginia where chigger live the best thing is never reware your dirty clothing. They are in your cloths. And when you do where long sleeve shirts tuck them in your pants tuck your pants in your boots. But never ware the clothes that you have worn without washing them. Wash your pants in the creek every night it will prevent you from being bit and your shirts also

Chickens are cleaner, produce more eggs, also eat food scraps, bugs and mice! They also go into their house by THEMSELVES at night, this is a big one imo. If their dusting habit annoys you like it does Nate, you can make them a sandbox so they won’t dig holes. Duck poo is watery and they foul their water as soon as you change it, their bedding is always wet and can mold. Hands down chickens are better imo.

Turkeys and ducks also maybe a few Pheasants or as we call them bush chickens. @@Timmytimtim3 I am 38 and been around livestock my entire life. Chickens have a certain number of eggs they can lay in a life time in their system. Period. It takes 24-26 hours for the next egg to move forward. If you cull a hen you will see the line of “pearls”. I find turkens have double yolkers more than most. I even hatched twins from one that both survived.

I didn’t make it to live but honestly depends cause if you feed your chickens well than sometimes I got 2-3 eggs more often than you’d think from 1 chicken 1 in the am 1 in the afternoon sometimes one at night I had a hen that just popped em out but I moved to my uncles and his dogs broke in and killed em all. Honestly feed your chickens well and you’ll get more than you think and taste better
