⁠@@triforcetimes they’re right. the adult timeline isn’t another what if scenario like the downfall timeline. when Zelda plays the ocarina and let link live his childhood that offshoots into the child timeline. but that Zelda continues HER life in Hyrule (the same one we see the credits of Oot and everyone is celebrating) and then probably a few centuries go by but when Ganondorf returns (the one we fight at the end of OoT and he says he will plague Link and Zelda’s descendants) since Link has gone and so has the spirit of the hero no one is to stop him so the Goddesses have to flood the world, leading to Wind Waker. Link doesn’t continue his life as an adult, he simply leaves that timeline.

@@codster279Yes, the name of the Adult Timeline is not like the description. From what I remember, the Adult Timeline(WW onwards) is named because of when the Hero of Time travelled 7 years into the future, being an 'Adult'(Age is disputed but it is recognised that he is one of the oldest Links the series so adult it is). When Zelda sent him back 7 years and split the timeline he was once again, a child. In the sequel(Majora's Mask) he was also a child, and doesn't feature Adult Link. The adult Timeline is not a what-if, it is an alternate series of events(that are just as real) that were caused by being sent back. In short, the Adult Timeline is named because of the events of OOT, which features an instance where the Hero of Time becomes an Adult(Master Sword) and the Child Timeline is when he gets sent back and the Adult section of OOT didn't happen(Ganondorf gets exposed by young Link). Please correct me If I am wrong and I hope you all have a wonderful 2025!

It would be awesome to see this game with 3 links converging the timeline. It would be great to see the downfall timeline link have the personality of the animated series. “Excuse me princess!” What if instead of two of the links dying, all 3 converge to make the first zonai 😮

It really doesn't have to be one game. In fact, in universe, it would make sense to merge the timelines only with a Link or a Zelda from each timeline wishing on their respective Triforces. That would mean that each would defeat their own Ganon for the Triforce of Power, and it really makes sense from a growth persoective to have that happen only at the end of a game. So there would be at least three games dealing with the timeline merge.

The only time timelines converge have been games made by Koei Techno, from Hyrule Warriors and Fire Emblem Warriors, both games saying licence by Nintendo, when literally turned on, still being exclusive to Nintendo. Plus each new Zelda game, tends to bring over things from previous games regardless of timeline.

I would like to think if the timelines do converge it would make a new universe/one that has always been. and the only one that remembers the timelines ever existing is link who has all three links memories but is now one dude but is his own separate person and doesn’t have three voices in his head.

I think they just need to say Botw and Totk are there own timeline. Botw somehow has aspects of all of the timelines (and there’s no way they just magically “converge”) and Totk completely contradicts Skyward Sword and the story setup by that game. Any open world Zelda games going forward take place in a new timeline with Botw and Totk as the first two games

The wild era's hyrule is a different hyrule to the ones in all the other games, the Zonai hyrule is a rebuild of hyrule after some mass destruction. It does not contradict Skyward Sword due to them being hundreds if not thousands of years apparent

Here is something I want everyone to do. Compare the maps for both BotW and Twilight Princess. Compare the locations of the Great Bridge of Hylia, Gerudo,and Faron regions on both maps. You will see BotW’s map is an expanded version of the map from Twilight Princess. I have no doubt BotW and TotK are both at the end of the Child Timeline.

@@triforcetimes Have you actually compared both maps before coming to your conclusion? Pin point Lake Hylia/Great Bridge of Hylia on both maps. The Gerudo Desert is to the West. Mount Hylia/Snowpeak is to the North West. Hyrule Field is to the North. The Faron region is to the South East. Don’t take my word for it as the evidence is all there in plain sight.

@@GenkiStarLeaf Four Swords Adventures takes place right after Twilight Princess according to the official timeline, so it makes no sense for Twilight Princess's Hyrule to look one way, then turns into an island surrounded by ocean, and later a large expanded landmass covering miles upon miles of surface. Also, Aonuma and Fujibayashi have both stated that the Wild games take place at the end of all the timelines, making it impossible for them to specifically exist exclusively in the Child Timeline.

@@javiervasquez625 Nope, they never stated BotW/TotK takes place at the end of ALL timelines. Aonuma said the games are set at the very end but not confirming which timeline exactly. If they did, people wouldn’t be talking about timelines converging, like in this video. Talking of Fujibayashi, this is the same guy who said every bit of sheikah tech including the Guardians, mysteriously vanished after BotW. This is despite seeing all the Guardian tentacles at the Skyview Towers and a single Guardian at the Akkala Ancient Tech Lab in TotK. I would probably take whatever he says with a pinch of salt at this point. Despite it being “official” Four Swords Adventures being set after TW never made any sense. Especially with the inclusion of the Dark World which we have only ever seen in the Downfall Timeline. I’m sure Four Swords was set in the Downfall Timeline as well, before they then re-placed it after the Minish Cap.

@@GenkiStarLeaf Nope, they did state BotW/TotK takes place at the end of ALL timelines, as per the aforementioned _references_ to ALL the games from across ALL the three timelines ranging from locations, to characters and even items which directly acknowledge characters and events from the likes of The Wind Waker, Spirit Tracks, Ocarina of Time, A Link to the Past, Link's Awakening and A Link between Worlds. That a bunch of dissonant, contrarian redditors are unwilling to look at all that and realize that the Era of the Wild is a *soft reboot* of the franchise, is completely inconsequential to the FACT that the timelines have already converged into a singular one after the sheer passage of time and divine intervention caused by the Golden Goddesses turned all past games from ALL 3 TIMELINES to become the _legends_ which litter the world of BotW Hyrule. Fujibayashi said that all *ACTIVE* Sheikah technology disappeared from Hyrule after Calamity Ganon was vanquished, whereas all the inactive and derelict technology which no longer functioned remained behind, due to its aforementioned inactive status. Good for you for letting Mr. Confirmation Bias do all the thinking. It's clear you haven't played Four Swords Adventures, considering the game's backstory revolving around a certain "Dark Tribe" which got sealed away inside a _Dark Mirror_ for attempting to conquer Hyrule (sounds familiar?). If you've played Twilight Princess, you should automatically know why Aonuma placed Four Swords Adventures at the end of the Child Timeline. It isn't "official", it's *canon.*
