I was Fabian's interviewer and he was hired not because of his OSCP, but because the total of all the things he was doing on his own to learn, the answers to the questions we asked, his blog, and the results of his technical challenge. As opposed to what I see frequently in candidates, he didn't make a bunch of excuses as to why he didn't know something or why he couldn't do something. He took his destiny into his own hands and shaped the situation to the outcome he wanted which was to become a pentester. Getting hired is a mix between timing, luck in your job openings search query, and your portfolio (answers to interview questions, certs, personal projects, and technical challenges if one is given). Going on social media and complaining about why no one will hire you is a sure fire way for no one to hire you.

Thanks so much Tadi, I love this motivational talk as I'll be taking my OSCP exam in February 2022 and this gives me a boost. I've done 37 PWK lab machines and I'm going through TJ nulls list now. Do you think I should get more lab time to finish off the PWK machines or would it be enough to do the PG and HTB machines in TJs list before taking the exam?

if you can afford it, i would say get the extension, otherwise it is not 100% necessary considering the fact that PG and HTB are a lot less expensive

Crazy to be turned down for internships and stuff... And yes probably automated denials.

Bro studying master in cybersecurity in uk vs preparing for oscp which is the best option ?
@tadii Жыл бұрын
oscp costs less, but just that alone might not get you a job. doing projects and starting a blog could add on to that and that will increase your chances of getting a job. if you really want to do the master go for it though, it might help whenever you want to move up the ladder into management or something
