Since you were talking about this and I'm a violinist I'll tell you that the imagery of the devil playing the violin/fiddle goes back to the invention of the violin itself. When the violin became more popular as a soloing instrument the normal populous started playing it more but since they are so expensive most people couldn't afford chin rests or shoulder rests so they played it as a fiddle, which got classical musicians really angry who said that it's because the devil plays the fiddle and they are trying to be impress him. The first song I know of that is about the devil playing the violin is Camille saint Sean's "danse macabre" which is about the devil summoning demons by playing the fiddle

What if Sock decides that he is no good at his task and leaves Jonathon, accepting his new fate in Hell. Jonathon then gets lonely without Sock due to the demon being his only company and support system in life, and it hurts him when Sock suddenly disappears with only the most short and subtle of goodbyes. Jonathon ends up missing him so much that he kills himself, partly out of sadness and partly in hopes of seeing Sock again. The story ends in tragedy with Jonathon killing himself, Sock completing his task and therefore regaining his job, the two either never reuniting or only being able to see each other once every decade because of Sock having to be away with his job all the time, and Mephistopheles watching on in amusement.

Depressed_Kermit I know animation takes a while but I also know sponge Bob (yes more staff I know but also higher quality, so it evens out) puts out a new episode every couple of weeks when their seasons are in. so it don't take this damn long, my dude.
