I like my Ironmasters best between them and Powerblocks (my other set of adjustables). My Powerblocks broke dropping them while working out and the "cage" around your hand gets in the way for several exercises. I don't need the ironmasters to be extremely fast because I'm not trying to do drop sets "running the rack" or anything like that. Plus I can set up the Powerblocks if I did need to do dropsets. I've never tried snode, bowflex or peppin. 15 years ago I had olympic handles with 240lbs of 10lb plates...that was a pain to use compared to ironmaster. You'd think the olympic DB handles would be fine to rest on your legs when setting up for bench press until you start getting north of 80lbs, then even the bigger olympic size starts to dig into your leg too much (plus those handles are ridiculously long when doing light weight stuff like shoulder flies).

Yup I’m surprised Rep increased the price so quickly. Maybe demand has allowed them to. I agree with what you said though that most home gym owners will baby their equipment. For me the nuobells are more than adequate especially given the price difference when factoring in the stand.

Thanks so much for the great review. I pre-ordered the REPxPeppin dumbbells when they first announced them. I am supposed to get them next month. Personally, I would not buy an adjustable dumbbell that doesn’t go in 5lbs increments for the reasons you spoke about. With all the dumbbells that are available today, why would anyone got with one that doesn’t do 5lbs increments? So many good ones out there and they are all close in price. I'd like them to go in 5 lb increments but with the snodes, I honestly didn't seem to miss it 40 lbs and heavier, but these weren't good for my wife. Hope those peppins ship soon

I've had mine since Nov. 2021. Work great & feel like a "real" dumbbell. I've never dropped them.

These seem cool, a more durable version of the Nuobells with less weight jumps. I am happy with my 90lh Powerblocks but excited to almost be outgrowing them for some movements. Those Ironmasters may be next up and will keep them at them pre-set for over 90lbs...

@@NoFate247 No we got ours back in early 2019 when we built out our home gym. My wife also uses them and doesn't like knurling so I think it is a fair compromise without it, no issues for me.

Good review. I've had these for a while. I like them. I don't drop them so that hasn't been an issue. I didn't think I would but I do miss being able to adjust them by 5 lb increments especially at lower weights for things like side laterals for example. I was thinking of getting a set of PlateMates, but that's another $150 or so (I know they sell their own magnet weights but they don't look that great). I might sell them to get the Repins after I see some reviews.
