Used to drive a Bedford like yours as wrecker (with a1940s ex army crane on the back ) back in the mid 70s bloody hard work driving it as i remember

Well done in getting it started and moving. Great looking truck.

That's kool, should restore the drive train and brakes, all the important bits and leave the body looking exactly like it does now, that be awesome
@ruyboxe2 жыл бұрын
any updates on the Bedford?
@Michaelalsoporchard2 жыл бұрын
Gotta find brakes for it.
@Michaelalsoporchard Жыл бұрын
We also just put some welsh plugs in it because they were leaking like a siv. We are gonna send the water pump away to be refurbished as well. When all that’s done, gotta fix brakes and then onto cosmetic work

Well I remember these trucks being the vehicle of choice for heavy lifting here in Bermuda, so it's great to see one being resurrected :-)

One of the most stylish trucks ever built, IMHO. The 6 was reliable and bullet-proof, but slow and thirsty. The brakes??? Hmmmm. Small-block Chev swap, every time.

Might do a cab swap or front axle conversion. Maybe 🤔

Better hope that it doesn't have the horrible master cylinder/booster thing under the cab floor - so bizarre, yet so useless.
@Michaelalsoporchard3 жыл бұрын
I’ll have a look for the master cylinder under the floor. Thankyou because we had no clue where to find it! If it’s there we’ll probably use it.
@andysaunders37083 жыл бұрын
@@Michaelalsoporchard Did you find it? They're bloody expensive to fix - e.g. in 1994, it was over NZ$700.00. It was worth it, as it was one of the last of the line, and was in super-good condition. They're also rather awful to remove the rear brake drums from - there is a special Sykes-Pickavant puller than gets it done in seconds flat. Nothing else seems to work, apart from a gas-axe. This has drawbacks...
