I have the DWE7491 and have the same issues with it that you mentioned with your saw. This looks like a great sled. I looked at it closely when I was looking for a solution, but ended up going with Rockler’s sled which I like. Best of luck with this!

Thanks Steve. You as well. I think the saw is a great size and value but it does have its limits. I think the tickler is a good choice as well. Ultimately I tried the Incra because I knew I had the gauge already and it would work. I would have loved to have tested both. Having a sled does enhance enhance the experience even if it doesn’t solve ever issue :).

I laughed hard enough to literally spit out the apple I was eating when you made the joke about KZbin changing their policy on providing a SawStop…well played!

I did look at the official Incra instructions and it's saying that you need 10 inches between the miter slot and the sides of the table. I think your saw, like mine, doesn't have that much. But it looks like it still works pretty well?

@@stevemcirvin Hi Steve - This is what I did. I read that spec as needing 10 inches right of the blade. On my DeWalt it has a material support built into the fence. I use that to support the sled. The key is to make sure you still have an inch of space between the edge of the sled and the actual fence. If the fence touches the sled you could get a kickback if it pinches. Right or wrong that is how I use mine and it has worked for my needs, At least until they finally send my SawStop! Safety first though - only do cuts you feel comfortable with and never trust anyone on the internet :) Unless that internet person has a Sawstop then just do whatever they say :P

Thanks Professor :). 100k here we come. I actually have a a fun holiday gift guide and small giveaway video coming soon to help get there so keep and eye out. Not a Sawstop but the best I could do at this point :)

I was looking at this sled of course a day too late, as I was trying to cut some 15 inch panels and these cuts were a nightmare with just an ok aftermarket miter gauge and the jobsite saw that I have (same size as yours). What do you think is the max width you could crosscut with the express? Also, Incra notes you should have 8 inches of table beyond the miter slots for support with the express, but my saw only has 6. I think that DeWalt does as well. No noted problems there?

Sorry for the slow response on this. I actually had the saw at a different house for a project and wasn't able to get there. No problem cutting short pieces with the lower clearance. It get a bit shaky with heavier pieces, so I use a portable outfeed table to keep the workpiece from tipping down. The door panels you saw me cut in the video were 21 inches. Hopefully that helps.
