Will Turtle Wax Ceramic Polish & Wax by Hand Remove Paint Oxidation on a Junkyard Classic Car ?

We where challenged by Bottle Caps to polish a classic car that has paint oxidation and
try to make the paint look new again . So we picked the all new @Turtle Wax Hybrid Solutions Ceramic Polish & Wax to review . So we went to Parts Galore Salvage yard Flat Rock to test auto detailing products on junkyard cars . I think we are the first KZbinrs to test auto detailing products at a junk yard . That's the beauty of old school single stage. Hiding under all that dullness and oxidation is fresh glossy paint and new pigment that's never been exposed to UV and the elements. I love correcting single stage, huge turnaround, very rewarding. Plus you have more workable material, not just the clear coat layer. Props for working by hand, though I don't envy you. Now we all break out our mini and now even our micro polishers, so we don't even have to do tight spots and small areas by hand. 😁👍👌✌

You are right signal stage has a fresh layer under the oxidation. Hand polish would took for ever to detail this LTD. Want to see how good the product would do by hand. Have a great weekend

LOU, I like your old junkyard wax re: 'Once a Year Polish" tv commercials from the 60's or 70's? I have used all of the Turtle Wax Hybrid Solution products and have found them quite effective. I am a driveway detailer, & I started using the TW products about 8 months ago, still going strong. If used properly, the family of Turtle Wax Hybrid products are HIGHLY recommended. If you want to spend the money secret weapon gave more of a shine and looked cleaner. But TW ceramic polish still did a great job polishing the paint and at a nice price . You can't go wrong with either one.

This product is really designed for clear coat and not to bond to paint. There is zero clear coat left on this car so not the best use for this product. It still will polish though due to the abrasives.

The gloss is in the paint single stage paint .This product can be used on this type of paint. I should know was auto manufacturer painter and auto paint mixer for years. The paint on the LTD never had clear coat .

Don't think it's really made to use on old acrylic lacquer.....looks like it took the oxidation off.

We proved it can be used and it gave a shine to the old paint. Funny people cry when you test on newer paint and cry when testing on old paint that trashed.

Hey Keith I doubt that's the original acrylic lacquer finish back in those days people used to get their cars painted like getting tires put on good old-fashioned maintenance I bet $10 that's acrylic enamel re-spray probably an Earl Scheib Paint Job...lol
