You can play Endless Ocean in 4K/60 on PC in a emulator. Probably the only remaster we will ever get.

I was a huge fan of this game back when I was younger. Made me want to be a marine biologist. I remember the game scared the crap out of me in certain parts (the ghost ship that'd drift about into the play area that you could enter to be brought to a ship graveyard, the sunken palace with that massive shark stalking you outside, anywhere in the abyss, etc.) Would love to see another game again.

I first played the game when I was 5 or so, I'm 17 now and still LOVE and play the game. Endless Ocean was one of the most happy memories I have from my childhood so I really cherish it. I hope one day we get a new Endless Ocean, but I know realistically it'll probably never happen :( Edit: March 30 2024: 19, ITS BEEN ANNOUNCED WOOOO

Blue World is incredibly important to me and close to my heart as it holds so many good memories. I didn’t have the best childhood or the best parents so this game was an outlet for me to feel happy. It sparked my lifelong passion for marine fauna and flora. I yearn for a three. I’ll always favor Blue World over everything (I’d love a sequel personally, love the characters and would love to see open ended plot threads solved), but I would love a new game in general. Imagine all the amazing dive spots, the plethora of fish! I’d love more freshwater locations.

They were my favourite games on the Wii! I spent hours unwinding in the evening, swimming and exploring. I just got a Switch this week and am too super hopeful of a similar or HD remake.

I got the second endless ocean when I was a kid at a yard sale. Being a kid, pretty much any video game was really fun, no matter the quality, but I do remember being especially fond of that game. I went back to play it like a year ago because I was feeling especially nostalgic, and I even now that I’m older, I still feel like it holds up as a pretty good game. I would love to see another game, or even just a remaster.

Pleased to see a recent video on the game. There were two games that i wanted to be announced by Nintendo in the 2021 E3 Direct, one was Fatal Frame and the other was Endless Ocean. We got the FF announcement but I am always holding out hope that EO surfaces for the Switch in some form. I played the first game to completion and my daughter loved discovering the whales and sharks, and the Abyss is still a pretty terrifying place as an experience to visit. It is a criminally underrated franchise, EO1 is a beautiful game with a fantastic soundtrack and decent story, I am really surprised it hasn't been revisited. I briefly played EO2 but i prefer the single location of EO1, the jetsetting around the planet in E02 kind of broke the immersion for me. Maybe I should give it another go. Mind you I've yet to complete the log book of found fish in E01 so that's a good excuse to dive in again.

This game has been in the back of my mind for so long. I got the second game not realizing there had already been a first, but i played them both. I remember playing blue world for the first time a it literally taking my breath away. It’s a lost gem and the though of a third in todays graphics would be mind blowing!

Played both endless oceans and loved them as far as they went. Coral is animal life but there was no mention of the different species, I found it missed a chance to show the different types and their roll for the reefs. Maybe that could be for a future game. I hope

Endless Ocean is an awesome. A 2020 game called Beyond Blue attempted to serve a similar function as Endless Ocean and was perhaps implicitly meant to be a spiritual successor to Endless Ocean, but fell short in many ways. It's not a great game, but it's not bad either. I think it's worth playing, but it is only worth $10, not $20, so maybe get it when it's on sale.

I've been daydreaming about a hypothetical game, maybe set in South America or the Caribbean, that would let you explore a coral reef, a tropical river, AND go on land to explore a dense rainforest. There was a bit of land-based exploration in Blue World, and I'd love to see that taken further.

The closest you get to a remaster of this, is by playing it on 4K on a emulator on PC. The developer of Endless Ocean made Tetris 99 and Super Mario Bros 35 for Switch, but in general they are mostly focused on fighting games i think.

It really looks a million times better in HD, and I think there may be an incomplete HD texture pack for Endless Ocean 2 available online that may improve the game, though I never tried it.
