Prior to coupling, I like to stop the bobtail by placing my fifth wheel just ahead of the trailer as I am backing. This way, I can come out and see the height of the trailer to determine the next step. If it's too high, I need to lower the landing gear. If it's too low, I need to raise the landing gear. Otherwise, I will slowly back up without banging against the kingpin. After hearing the coupling click, I will perform the tug tests.

thats why you should go on duty and log out of eld when getting towed. you wont be able to edit drive time but make sure you document the reason

It’s on the radio. It’s called weather band and broadcasts weather 24/7 for wherever you are driving through. Not all radios come with it.

The Pete 567 or whatever model W is using for their fleet is very narrow inside. Not big and comfy like the 379 that towed you. I drove through those and other windmill farms in the west. Cool during the day, but kinda creepy at night. 🥺 Cool video.

I watch just about every one of your shows, cause I plan to go to Warner🤞🏼and drive in the Fall and watching the only driver that I know on KZbin that drives for Werner is pretty cool. Loved the video… Except your comments at at the 29:28 mark, you said that the way they treat those animals is sad. True it is, but when those cattle get that point in their lives, they are now food. They are on their way to the slaughter house to be processed for food.

I appreciate your comment and am wondering if you are saying this is not a feed lot but rather a brief stop on their way to the slaughter house? My understanding is that it’s a feed lot where they are kept and grown. I eat beef, but I prefer meat from animals who had a happy life, got to move and eat grass, not corn, and aren’t shot full of antibiotics. I think that meat is healthier for me to consume. Of course those cows also have to go to a slaughter house of some kind, but I would hope they don’t have a stop over at this kind of place. Best of luck with CDL school! I stand corrected. I looked up the place on I40 and saw that it is a Feeder Yard. Which isn’t technically a bad thing, but I understand what you are saying about grass fed cows. If you think about it though, most cows, chickens, turkeys, pigs and whatever other kind of meat that we eat will be feed like this. There are the grass fed happy places too, but it’s a business and the faster way to make a dollar is to get them fat and more them along. Anywho, like I said, I stand corrected. And I too hope to see y’all out on the road someday.
