Congratulations on the successful mouse rescue! I'm sure Eric thought he had the best present for you. He just doesn't understand how to "shop" for humans. It's wonderful of you and your other half to go to such trouble to release a helpless creature outside. I'm reminded of a time, many years ago, my kitty, Ra, who is now enjoying his afterlife, caught a mouse in our garage. He let out a victory cry that got me running, and there he was with a tail and little back feet dangling from his mouth. Our mouse rescue was on. My husband and I managed to free it from Ra's mouth (other than frightened, the mouse was OK) and deliver it back to the woods near the house. What an adventure! Ra was very nonchalant about the whole ordeal. I can fully appreciate your efforts. 😸😄

Hahaha...Watching this video, I am reminded of when my Shona dumped a mouse in my bed at 3 a.m. He was playing with it. I awakened and just about hit the ceiling... I was then running around my bedroom with kitchen tongs trying to catch the poor thing, whilst my cat was continuiing to torment him. Eventually, I saved the mouse, and all was well. At least our Eric didn't possess the killer instinct.❤

This had me in stitches laughing! My cats are just as naughty, so we have a waste paper bin and big piece of cardboard to slide under the small bin but sometimes I have to put a mouse trap out. I have had mice, rats, shrews, birds, large horned beetles, frogs and none of its dead, so we have to catch them pretty regular.

I had two female cats that were sisters years ago ,they frequently brought in mice from the garden and I spent many hours trying to to catch them with a Tupperware container,worst thing was that one day I put a slice of bread in the toaster and as i was about to put the switch down a little mouse’s head popped up and then it jumped out of the toaster and disappeared behind the cooker!

Please, I’m trying to teach you how to hunt. It’s small and slow and can’t hide in the grass, I couldn’t make it any easier. Besides, I’ve already caught it once, it’s no challenge. You got a chance to tidy your house, see what an interesting start I’ve given your day. Anyway, it’s something I learn from Mum in Cat-101: You can get away with anything when you’re cute. The important thing is that you both worked together great and got the critter alive and well outta the house. It never happened that way in the household that I grew up in. Many times, the cat brought in (always was) a chipmunk. Never caught a single one after the cat would let it go in the house. Every one of them found one of the furnace cold air return grates on the floor to fall through before we could catch it. Funny and very good thing was somewhat strangely, there was never any odor.

One of my kitties bought a dead rat in and deposited it under the radiator in my bedroom. I hate rats. Another kitty bought in a live grass snake and deposited it at my feet, completely unharmed. Rescued that little thing. Third pressie was from another kitty. A live pigeon through the cat flap in the kitchen. It eventually flew out the window.

This was so funny, thanks for the laughs. I go through similar with my Myles. He brings birds to the door, I open it to get the bird, reach for it then he releases it and it usually flies into the house. The indoor cats are then running around following it as I try to climb up on furniture to be high enough to capture it. Mayhem.

Love this wonderful family. I had a tabby Eric and he was super intelligent and certainly in charge. But when we had a hamster as well, he would let the hamster climb on him. Eric finally left us as we had three other cats to live with him and us. I get the impression that he would have just preferred him and the hammy😊
