This is just what I see the song as, I see it as someone holding onto the ledge of insanity and sanity for dear life. But with every small thing that goes wrong, or every chance at happiness that vanishes - they grow tired of holding on. Like very little goes right for them. I must say, quite a catchy song. I really love this song and I think it's because I see it as a song about depression/mental illness. Because sunshine is usually affiliated with happiness and dark with sadness. If they "come out of the cave" maybe they seek help (therapy) or acknowledge the problem. But you cant really get rid of mental illness so youre stuck in the middle, not sunshine or the moon. You can't see what youre experiencing. Also lots more but i dont wanna sit here and type it out the song is good and comforts me 💜
