I think of myself as a rather large, tough guy.... I cried like a baby at this rendition, truly heart-wrenching performance....

I’m with you Jon, I’m 59 years old, and this truly incredible performance is as powerful and thought provoking as the original performance was all those decades ago when I was a young boy. It was also the first time I’d heard the saxophone played on it’s own and not in a band like Glen miller’s. I now own 3 saxophones and owe it all to hearing “will you”

This is great.. I loved it back in the late 70's early 80's. Yes we had our troubles of the days, but we had youth on our side. Now days youth is wasted on the young.. All they do is what? ..

One of my most played albums. Can you believe it came out 41 years ago!!!!! My memories of seeing The Eighth Day vid on a saturday morning kids show are still so clear. I went out to buy the single but it wasn't released till the week later. That was a long week. Made my Mam take me to see the movie as it was an AA i think and kids had to be accompanied. I'd say it had a big impression on my musical tastes.

I have been lucky enough to see Hazel many times, along with her two bandmates, Clare always gets a huge cheer and everyone is always waiting for this solo Sax rendition! I've see grown men at Rebellion Punk festival shed a tear at this song! I hope Hazel is slowly recovering from her recent illness and maybe one day we will see her grace a stage once more, but I will always have the memories.

I like how in all the live performances of this I have watched that Hazel walks out of the lime light at the sax solo part. She knows at that point she is no longer relevant to the music. It was rare back then let alone now. It takes confidence to do that.
