I had the greatest privilege to see both of these talented ladies numerous times, the whole venue of alternative and punk fans stood mesmerised. Everyone, from young teens to retired crusty punks sang every word and stood in abject silence during the Sax solo! A truly wonderful experience and we were all blessed to be there. Sadly it may of been the last time we see Hazel singing on stage, so sad to hear of her health problems! But it's a memory I shared with my young son conner ! And now he will have that memory forever! If only the world could produce more lifelong moments like this it would be a better place for the future! A bigger mix of people standing side by side you could ever meet, all stood savouring a truly wonderful moment together! Only music can overcome Race, Religion, colour, politics, gender and age! It's a pity more can't experience such moments! The rest of the world could learn from such a small selection of the population! Hate has no place in civilised society!

i think this is true . unfortunately too many people follow cult figures or so called leaders. instead of listening to the music. music with words can be a type of propaganda but music alone tears at the human emotion and soul and cannot be manipulated.

I have not heard this song for 30 years yet it still managed to move me to tears. The sax solo at the end is without a shadow of doubt the most moving. Beautifully played. The song is stunning and very well put over by Hazel O'connor. Thank you both for an amazing blast from the past. Peter.

Claire is not only a brilliant musician, she is also a good person. I needed sax on my Uni project a couple of years ago but had no money to offer. She gave up her afternoon, paid her own travel costs, brought my studio project to life and answered all my miriad of questions about playing Live Aid. And she certainly is a phenominal musician

As an ex crap saxophonist turned drummer I've always loved this song. This is a great version with beautiful sax work by Claire. After trying to cut my hand off with a circular saw a couple of years back the consultant at the QA Hospital in Portsmouth told me how he was treating the son of an ex professional sax player who had cut his fingers off the same way...he didn't say his name but I knew that must be Wesley Magoogan the original saxophonist on the song. Such a shame.

Whether its Clare, Wesley or a hundred other covers, its undeniable that this song, and the sax , brings back and continues to evoke memories of the early 80s , the angst and anguish, the punk era and the states of times. Hazel O Connor still retains that passion & flair - not to mention her voice - that made her a star back in the 80's. Kudos to her. As for Claire Hurst, the Sax player, she has that ability to induce your jaw to drop & stand there agog at what you're seeing. This performance was exactly that; faultless, incredible & heavenly to listen to. I guess that's perfection!
