Vitamin deficiencies affect your overall health, but will your blood test detect them?
Take Dr. Berg's Free Keto Mini-Course: or go here: bit.ly/2RmaFDS
TEST:
www.spectracel...
Download Keto Essentials
bit.ly/2DH0d6o
CBC - Complete blood count (measures red blood cells, white blood cells, hemoglobin, and iron)
BMP - Basic metabolic panel (measures all basic organ systems and a few nutrients)
Neither of these tests will actually detect all of your nutritional deficiencies. What’s happening in the blood is not happening inside the cell.
Classical nutritional deficiencies - Severe deficiencies like scurvy, rickets, pellagra, or beriberi
Subclinical nutritional deficiencies - Could relate to repair, longevity, or protecting the immune system
Subclinical vitamin deficiency symptoms:
• Vitamin A - Problems with night vision
• Vitamin D - Low back pain
• Vitamin E - Weak muscles
• Vitamin K1 - Bruising
• Vitamin B1 - Anxiety
• Vitamin B2 - Cracked corners of the mouth or lips
• Biotin - Problems with your nails and hair loss
• Vitamin C - Bleeding gums and fatigue
How to test nutrient deficiencies:
Use a blood test that evaluates these nutrients off of your lymphocytes. A company called SpectraCell specializes in this.

I agree, the more tests they do beyond the normal CBC test COSTS the patient out of pocket money because insurance companies only cover the BASICS. As you said Naima, MOST people CANNOT afford to pay for these non-covered tests. There are MILLIONS and MILLIONS of sick and disabled humans living on LIMITED INCOMES due to our illness and disabilities. BUT there is NO EXTRA HELP for any of us. SADLY we cannot properly treat ourselves well enough to even TRY to live a BETTER QUALITY OF LIFE. The worst part is our government and insurance companies DON'T CARE. I take 10,000iu off D3 a day, with K2, been taking it for over 10 years, but also gave up Aspertame around the same time, I had backache alot before then. It definitely helps reduce any inflammation, but this past year Keto & IF has also lowered my inflammation to, so it's probably a combination off all those things really. Also like in Dr Bergs other video today, applying heat to any muscle pain really helps, like using muscle rubs, I make my own, but Tiger balm is brilliant for rubbing on a sore back. It could mean it’s not getting into the cells right? Possibly from low sodium? So serum electrolytes lab is really not accurate at all right??

Well I later took several rounds of doxycyline, one round of flucanozole and started rotating vitamins separately taking some every other day. I watched your video on Keto and took your advice on EATING ARGUELA. After that a lot of my symptoms went away. My calcium reads normal....but could I really have high calcium? Wow, thank you so much!!! That is information I can use now to get properly tested..I know I am deficient in Vitamins and for a long time, do to TMJ, tooth loss, migraine headaches, slow emptying of the stomach, constipation, AxSpA, so much pain from my neck down to by toes! The combination of all of these has left me very depleted in nutrients. I have spoken to the doctor and wouldn't ya know they ran just the 2 tests and said eat more.....Are they kidding, I can't eat more I will not be able to eat a proper diet of food until I have the remainder of my teeth pulled and dentures put in and on top of that it is hard af to eat with dentures when you have a jaw that continuously locks and extremely painful to chew your food!!! I swear no one helps the little bit younger people who happen to have illnesses that resemble an older persons ailment on top of them! Im 45 and have an auto immune spinal arthritis that has caused huge bone spurs on my neck C4 to C6 and scoliosis from my rib cage to my sacrum. L4-L5 have another bone spur and both places, neck and lower back have bulging discs, stenosis and bone spurs have made contact with spinal cord!! not to mention the Jaws, hips shoulders, elbows, knees, ankles, hands, fingers, toes and feet .. All major joints are effected and I have osteoporosis in my si joints and sacrum..The sacrum has multiple stress fractures on top of it..My pelvis is unstable and I can not get any Doctor I have seen in specialties have just sent me Dr. to Dr. and all have different ideas but have not implemented or even told me what it is they plans to do...The primary care DR pawns me off to all the specialists and never makes contact with any of them just the chart notes!! The feeling i get is that they don't expect some one who is 45 to have the troubles of an 80 year old, and Im treated as the i just don't know patient and because I wont do biologic s because they caused cancer and tuberculosis in my sister and we have the same genetic makeup!! Thank you if any one reads this far!!! I just thought I I spill it on here, someone might have something similar and have any ideas on how to combat any of this.. I am willing to read anyone's comments, or anything they want to share on this post... Thank you, Thank you!!

What do you think of the documentary on Netflix Game Changers. They advocate plate based diet, show casing high performance athletic that eat plant based high carbs diets (not white sugar). They all say they started performing much better after making the switch. They also demonstrate how any fatty food stays in the blood for 6-8 hours after a meal. I generally onboard with the principales of the ketogenic diet, but i tend to agree that meats are not good and cause cancers (inflammatory). Did anyone else watch that documentary?

Dr Berg, I’m doing keto with vegetables as you recommend, with particular interest in protecting my liver. What about when I do extended fasting? I assume during such periods I would not eat vegetables, but I would be processing fat through my liver. Is that a problem? Thanks....

Knowledge of vitamin k2 deficiency seems to be critical along with D and magnesium. Health care has a long way to go and until then it's a DIY science and supplemtation model of health and longevity.

Vitamin deficiencies however, from another perspective, are also a normal part of life. Throughout history, it's only in recent times that one might be able to get enough of every vitamin and even then only through great attention and effort. But the normal, however you look at it, is that some vitamin deficiencies are just a common part of day to day life.

I have very strong butterflies feeling at the stomach since young. Last 3 years tried all kind of supplements, now I narrow down to b8 inositol, which clear the feeling with 3000mg in 20 minutes. Also B1 to much lesser extent, perhaps only 15% effective. But I don't think it's easy to hv blood test on inositol. I suspect a few of my family members cud be b8 deficiency too.

Quest Diagnostics if they are in your area. You book everything on-line. Where I am there is no front desk-schedule online, check in on their computer in the entry, done quickly depending on how many people are waiting.

It just crossed my mind. If you take vitamins daily and get a blood test done, the test will show enough vitamins, but you know they came from a pill. So, should you actually stop taking vitamins some time before you go for a test?
