A couple years ago I bought a DJI Mini 2. I had one of the $40 ones and you're correct, they are impossible to fly. The DJI is a dream. Can't share a pic I took off my place with it. It's a hoot and can easily cover all of my 40 acres. My trees aren't quite as high so I have mine set to return at 80 ft. My altitude limit is 400 ft.

Cool. I will set this one at 100 or 120 to be safe as my trees are over 90 feet in some cases and the hill doesn't help 😉 it also is limited to 400 feet. Was fun learning how to fly it and I look forward to sharing cool shots of our place!

@TheOldJarhead well I'm definitely not a content creator lol. I couldn't even figure out how to add a pic in the comments here. You might consider some kind of landing pad. I finally bought one of the jungle website after using cardboard for a while.

lol You can't add pics here yet 😉 or at least I know of no way.

You can legally take it up to 400' in uncontrolled air space. Let's see the view😎

I think it uses visual cues as well as GPS to return to home. Take off from something with color contrast to the surroundings and give it something to latch onto visually. I think. I'm a rookie, too.

Good idea! I suspect you are right and I'll have to try that. Thanks.

Was flying mine in reverse when it struck a tree (Ponderosa). Had to send it in for repair, fell from a good height. Repair included replacing the mother board. Normally the sensor will not allow it to fly into anything. Got lucky the remote acted as a tracker. 😥😥😥
