Relax Joe, Summer league is Fools Gold, it's not really a time for winning. It's a time for seeing what you have, exposing players to new concepts and what to expect for returning players. Edey playing international ball doesn't help him more, otherwise Santi would have had a breakout year last season instead of taking steps back. Even learning from the bench team the concepts, direction and expectations will serve him better heading into this season. our season doesn't depend on summer league success. Love the show guys!

Joe…in the manner we fuss about kids in the US playing AAU games while kids in Europe practice, perhaps the value of Edey in summer league is what is being done outside of the games played

Alot of grizz fans like to build teams like its 2k. Yall wanna swap Ziaire and Jake for Demar derozan to come off the bench lol. Jake laravia is a decent end of bench player, he hustles, plays defense, and can shoot a lil bit. He's a good replacement for Jitty. Trey Jemison and Ziaire are decent inury fill ins for BC and other players as well. Unless someone is giving away Dorian finney Smith, then we should stand pat

Do the second round players make Koncar and Z Williams available to retain Kennard and trade for a center? Is Drew Eubanks a useful backup center? The Jazz have cap space and Eubanks is on a two year $5M/year contract. Thoughts.

Edey is the better pick but after seeing Clingan passing ability I wouldn't be surprised if the Grizzlies were really trying to trade up to get him. Edey will get you in the WCF so thank God he fell to us.

They should have let him go the Olympics. If he played for Canada, he could have got great experience playing against some of the NBA'S best in the tournament. You cna't replace those minutes in the summer league from the bench. so everyone making excuses for Grizzlies management but they the team is wrong. He's not getting ready, Edey is just sitting on the bench.

Right Hollis was just trash with development. Didn’t want to give players run in the regular season that really hurt us in the playoffs.

Personally, I think the grizzlies experiment of: low minutes, double the rest times for injuries, extreme caution for minimal injuries, etc., HAS PROVEN TO BE A TOTAL FAILURE! Now it could be just coincidental or there could end up being data that says, “the players that get minute and injury coddled end up being less durable”. I watch teams that have aggressive coaches, like the mavs and their players tend to be on the floor. When we look at the olden days, 70s, 80s and 90s, those guys would go half a career without sitting more than 4 games a season. If I look at my business, a construction business, oddly, the more we focus on safety and injury prevention, the more it occurs. It’s wild! It’s almost like it causes people to inadvertently injure themselves because they are hyper focused not too? We need Ja, Bane playing 35 to 37 minutes. Jaren should be playing 32 to 34 minutes. Edey around 28 minutes. Jenkins is so obsessed with the rotation that he yanks people in the middle of a heater or when we need them in a close game. This over conservative strategy has yielded us the most injury prone team in the league, switch it up!

The reason there appear to be more injuries is because they are actually getting reported. Stop complaining about having to finally acknowledge your employees injuries. When police start arresting more people it appears that there's a higher crime rate because more criminals are being arrested. God, how are you so backwards? What's the name of your company? I want to make sure I never go anywhere near it

@@Andhe-lr9zc what are you talking about? I said the more we focus on it the more it happens. All your other projections are quite obvious, you are definitely an injured worker baby. For the record, you don’t have an option whether to allow, or acknowledge injured workers, it’s a state law. How pathetic is your life that you come on here and intentionally misconstrue what I said to feel better about yourself? I can’t go further because people like you are the kind who turn people into KZbin for bullying, AFTER YOU INSULT SOMEONE. You are pathetic!

Joe, I think the problem is that you’re framing the choice incorrectly. The two options were not: playing for Canada in the Olympics or playing in summer league for the Grizzlies. They were: playing for Canada in the Olympics or spending the entire summer with the Grizzlies. Time with the trainers and the coaches. Time getting to know all his new teammates. Time practicing and scrimmaging with Ja and Dez and Jaren, etc. Summer league is going to be over in a week and the Olympic schedule will not have even started. Whether or not Edey should have played for his country was a personal decision whose correctness can only be determined based on the values of the person making it. But from the Grizzlies’ perspective, this was a major win. And it has absolutely nothing to do with the minutes he ultimately plays in these games on a team with barely anyone he’ll be playing with come the regular season. The benefit to the Grizzlies begins when these games end. That being said, I’ll be surprised if he doesn’t play tonight. But it will be because he wants to play, not because the Grizzlies think it’s important.

I think one dimensional players like Kennard might be a thing of the past for this team, not saying that Luke isn't coming back but Jake might just be his replacement long term (at least in theory)

@Frazedaddy why would an organization encourage a lottery pick about to be paying millions to play for another team not paying a lot. The players that are tremendously oriented to playing for their countries are the one's that got a lot of development through the country's youth development program.
