Edey had a max vertical of 31.5 inches at the Combine. For reference, Rudy Gobert only had 29 inches. He had a 3/4 sprint of 3.42. Gobert, 3.57. Lane agility of 11.19. Compare that to Gobert at 12.85. He is a heck of a lot more athletic than people give him credit.

He is #1 pick for me. He has a growing talent with generation size and the most potential out of any draft picks. Zack grew up playing hockey and baseball and only played basketball 5-6 years only. Was really surprised that teams did not select this gentleman. All of the things he brings to the table will really help the Grizzlies and maybe even more. I haven't seen that much of his shooting in the summer league, but I hope he develops somewhat a Kareem hook of his own. With his size and wingspan, that will be most likely unblock-able.

Please keep in mind how many players suited up for Memphis that weren't on the day 1 roster. My biggest concern is will he go an entire 82 and where is the FO with the signing of another big. Memphis won't survive the playoffs playing small ball.

I said before the draft that Edey will end up being by far the best player to come out of this draft and I'm going to be right. This idea that a great center can't still be dominant and extremely valuable in this era is completely false. He is going to show that the fundamentals of the game and getting good low post play with a dominant rim protector still wins games and this garbage crap jacking up a million 3 pointers that the Warriors started is shit basketball.

Zach will be just fine. Zach Randolph, Tony Allen, Mike Miller, the list goes on of Grizzlies players who made Memphis their home. The only player, Lorenzen Wright, a native Memphian, was murdered by his ex-wife for insurance money.
