Grace is the ultimate gaslighter. Think about it. Think very hard, go back and watch her arguments. She blames will for everything. She keeps changing her mind on impulse or love or stupidity. Always wants everyone to accommodate her needs. Like with the baby thing, will said the truth about grace. He can’t just put his needs on wanting a baby on the shelf. Grace is being unreasonable. Then she attacks will ,and blames him again, for her misery. Calling him controlling?! She can’t even feed herself without will’s food. At this point I would’ve just ended the friendship. As grace said, at Elliot’s middle school dance, “everything is about me” Then goes nuts over will sleeping with a woman. Becoming more jealous about will then her own husband. WTF!! She’s responsible for her misery and she blames everyone

She and Will are codependent. Yes she is all those things, but Will enables it all. She is able to run all over his boundaries because he won’t enforce them. Not that he is responsible for her actions, but he enables them. They are two sides of the same coin. Plus it’s a sitcom that ran for 8 years, and then for another three. They have to tangle these characters into contrived knots to keep the plot alive.

The reboot honestly never should have happened. It just wasn’t necessary or funny. As much as we all wanted it to happen, it just could never recapture the original spark. The actors are still talented, but the writing just wasn’t there. And then on top of that, rewriting history with the show after it had such a dramatic and heart-rending ending where we accept that Grace & Will’s relationship is ruined and they never speak for 20 years. Then they just go back in time and rewrite it all? Meh.
