It is Megan Mullally’s voice tone that contributes to the character’s effect. Note that in the pilot episode she used her real voice which isn’t as highly pitched and isn’t nearly as “funny” ( I’m not sure how to describe it). How she kept that up over the years is a testament to her professionalism as is everyone’s ability to keep straight faces. Love this show!
