Remember back in 1998 hauling 70 tonne up that hill with my Isuzu Giga 480hp heavy haulage unit she use to lug right down to 1100rpm and then skip 2 gears and send her back up to 2250rpm. Her optimum pull was 1650rpm she would hold there as long as she could then slowly fall away. That truck did 1.2 million kms with me. The other day I was driving and saw her coming my way still hauling. Spoke to the driver at the next stop and found she had done 2.2 million kms with no engine rebuild and still pulling well

It would be good to give a little clip some time of driving over that hill from one end to the other, I remember that being a gravel road in the 70's and 80's

So many twin steer trucks.. 🤔... must be some very different weight restrictions over there eh?
@ElysiumNZ3 жыл бұрын
On heavy trucks twin steer is great for road grip and steering in tight turns. Also much safer if you suffer a tyre blow out.
