I just found your account and a couple months ago my grandmas dying wish was to give me her car, it’s a 2008 Corolla LE and your videos have helped so much in working on my car and turning it into my dream Rolla, your a blessing bro thanks

Good video. Same thing happened on my 09 Pontiac Vibe. The bottom one was seized on and had to be fully dremeled off, but the top one was hand loose, exactly like your's. Shifts feel so clicky after. Great fix/modification if you are patient enough for it

Do you have the same problem in your reverse before installing the new shifter bushings? When changing to reverse i heard some grindings from the trans. But when I go to 1st gear first then change to reverse it is smooth and no grinding noise.
@thor29411 ай бұрын
I went with the Frankenstein Motorsports ones instead. Thrse solid bushings cause the cable to bind up!

Are there any trims on the shifter cables? All of the "down" gears on my Celica's stick are hard to get into, 2/4/R.
@lomfmur2 жыл бұрын
I did these with my clutch, never felt any different, barely used grease to get em in so I doubt that affected it. Oh well, gonna do the base ones soon

Definitely the best channel for 2zz content👍 Do u plan on getting the 4-2-1 Manifold from R9K?
@WillChang2 жыл бұрын
Very much appreciated! I am definitely planning on getting a header from R9K, along with a midpipe and muffler to complete the exhaust. Not sure exactly when I plan on ordering or installing all of this especially since it does take a few weeks to build and ship, but for sure on the to-do list!

Hey I’ve been binging all your Corolla videos! I’m commenting because this is your newest video hopefully you’ll see this. I’m just wondering what kind of gauge cluster that is that I see in your videos. It’s so clean, I can’t find any like it online I try searching everything. Thanks!!
@WillChang2 жыл бұрын
Really appreciate the support! It's the factory optitron cluster which was offered for 2005+ LE and XRS trims. I don't have any experience with the standard gauge, but it looks like a forum member made a write-up about the swap here: www.toyotanation.com/threads/diy-2003-2008-corolla-gauge-cluster-swap-w-pics.775010/

Hey will I experimented with my new xrs original shift knob and found it was pretty easy to re do it, mine has black velvet where the Chrome was and I used a rustic red bandanna for the pattern for the replacement to the leather, if you’d like to try it or maybe I could do it for you mine feels great love the feeling of it
@WillChang2 жыл бұрын
That's awesome! I'd love to try some red stitching sometime, I think it would look pretty nice and make a cool video too!
@anthonyaguallo12202 жыл бұрын
@@WillChang I’d love to see your hand at it, a good tip is use fabric adhesive, gorilla glue makes a really good one. Also dont over apply it’ll seep through the fabrics, and remember to pull and stretch where you can to make it have a good fit. excited to see the video!

I put these in a while ago, and it still felt pretty wiggly along with the mwr sts kinda bummed
@WillChang2 жыл бұрын
Mine is also a bit wiggly, the plastic housing is a bit worn out. I have a much tighter feeling one I bought in the junkyard a couple years ago which I plan on dropping in to see if that reduces the play in the shifter
@SeanDurkinn2 жыл бұрын
@@WillChang is it the little plastic ring collar thing you had to pry off to install the short throw? That was my suspicion for it being loose also
@WillChang2 жыл бұрын
Yep that's the one. It's worn enough to where I can see the gap, I could probably stick a small screwdriver between the collar and the main body of the shifter

Next mods coming up are oil pan, lowering springs, and radiator. In the future, I'm looking to install a full exhaust, 3in intake, ported tb, and ecu reflash for all of those mods, but if I'm lucky enough to get my hands on a supercharger then that's the route I'll take!
