Hey guys so can we all agree that this is our go-to awards rather than the Oscars? Lets build a movement. Independent films are where it's at! Overblown budgets for Hollywood blockbusters and studio executive favorites have sort of depleted the value of true cinema.

I really think he was snubbed because they wanted to give Pitt the award to recognize him and apologize for snubbing him (he was better in Moneyball, 12 Monkeys and this year in Ad Astra), and knowing that they just couldn't have Pitt against the powerhouse performance Dafoe gave (sorta like how they snubbed Jacob Tremblay for leading actor when they felt they needed to give DiCaprio the Oscar after so many other snubs)

There are hundreds of actors in the academy, there’s no way they could have coordinated that.
