It's most certainly another modified film of Kodak. They probably get the film delivered without the remjet now - translated into "not a repackaged motion picture film". It looks very similar to the Kodak Vision3 250D. Which can be had for $5 if you look around. Beats Portra all the way
@trulsdirio2 жыл бұрын
I mean they might pretty much get all their film that way now. They have had their own edge markings done by Kodak for a while, so it would be strange if that would not go in hand with Kodak just omitting the remjet application as well.

Personally, after all these years, I love digital. Having worked in color labs processing and color correcting a variety of films, the look of the film you tried is like nails on a blackboard - I spent too much time trying to correct issues with off brand film. It isn't 250D with the remjet removed, but it is 250D without remjet. They've gotten big enough to pay Kodak to deliver the film to them without applying the remjet at all. Hence the ambigous language on the website. Still 250D though :-) Which is good, cause it's a really nice film! Hopefully it will also result in better quality film with less scratches and such.

I think is obiviously 250D with remjet pre-removed(or never applied) by kodak. Using c41 process will not get the most out of these motion picture film since c41 is using cd-4 instead of the cd-3 in ecn2 chemical, thus giving colors different to the original 250D. It will also screw up the balance in c41 chemical and affect the color of other films processed in later batches(according to the tests done by one of my local lab). People should push labs around the world to do ecn-2 process so that we can shoot cheap kodak vision3 motion picture films. I've shot loads of 250D in the past 6 months and was extremely happy with the result, basically a portra pro version with more strict requirement of light control.
@GregoryVeizades2 жыл бұрын
Ok. I'll bite. I don't believe that processing this film will screw up chemicals. I work at a lab and when this starts showing up in masse, I'll run many control strips to see if there is any visible difference. I doubt we'll see it. Especially with proper replenishment you are replacing a large amount of developer in short order. 40ml/roll if memory serves and my machine runs 7x35mm per rack. We already process a lot of 50D and 800T. Especially last month with the Color film shortage. There was a time a good 40% of our developed film was 50D or 800T and we didn't see any densitometry shifts on our control strips. Nothing outside the margin of error, or something that couldn't be explained by another process issue, which we are constantly fine tuning.
@rolandzzj61072 жыл бұрын
@@GregoryVeizades With proper relenishment and constant check of control strips sure it will not be a huge enough difference to be visible to customer side, but realistically not all labs are doing those. My point is that processing these motion picture fims in c41 will always be less ideal than ecn2. Unless someone is using those as art fims.
