The local thrift stores near my home have so many 35mm cameras all the time. I’ve been fortunate enough to collect some Yashicas, Canons, Nikon’s, Olympus’s, etc. I would buy them super cheap, clean them up, and then resell them based on average prices on eBay/other sites and make a profit on the side. I had one of these. It was my first P&S, which I bought shortly after my first child was born, precisely because I didn't want to have to deal with my relatively large, clumsy, multi-piece SLR to take snapshots of my daughter. I took a lot of pictures with it, and got to know it pretty well. Its main limitation, as your photos show, is that its auto-exposure is easily fooled or overwhelmed, so you have to watch your lighting and frame your shots carefully to get good results. I used it for about 4 years, after which the switch in the sliding lens cover broke, and the camera wouldn't work anymore. At that point, my dad gave him his Olympus Infinity Stylus Zoom, which I used for about 6 years, after which I went digital.
