Wow! I was blown away by the quality of your video, for many reasons stated by everyone on this comment section, but for me, mainly because of the photos, there are some great shots in there! If you could make a video on how to use some of the manual controls this cameras have that'll be amazing. I have a Contax T2 and I really want to make the most out of her while she's alive, so it'd be cool if you can explain a little bit about the aperture ring, exposure compensation and focal distance for certain situations. I have a very unusual Vivitar twin 1000 point and shoot camera. Basically has two different lens positions. You can switch between a wide and telephoto lens. The unusual thing about is when you load the film the motor does not Advance automatically you actually have to press the shutter button a few times to get it to the number one position. I'm currently using it for the first time so I don't know what the results will be. Despite being a basic camera it can still read the DX codes.

Hey, thanks very much! I'm glad it was helpful. Keeping your camera in a room that has a humidifier running a lot may not be ideal long term. It could be worth keeping it in a container of some kind with some silica/desiccant packs, or in another dry place.

If it was just a few centimeters or even inches, it'll still be fine. The camera had to pull a bunch out into the spool once you close the door anyway. So you should still get the amount of shots noted on the roll (eg 36 or 24)

Hey, sorry to hear! If you're sure its staying on 0 and hasn't loaded properly, you can open it up to reload. However, once a film is loaded properly and is advancing along normally, you shouldn't open the door until it's finished and rewound 🙂
@alicepark1121

Pushing Film hey thanks for you answer!! However... what happens to the part that we already exposed to light while we put it in the camera? Are the first few films not going to be actual picture but a exposed film? Or the camera manage to skip them by itself while we close the cover (sorry for many questions...) cuz when my mom showed me her manual film camera she said the first film will not show any picture so i should manually skip it (take some random pictures).

Specifically it turns on (the green lights turns on) when I am in a dark place and it doesn't take pictures. When I am in a light place the green light doesn't even turn on and of course it doesn't take picture. That didn't hapen on the previous shots, the green light was always on when I opened the camera. It's my first experience on such kind of camera. Do you know what might be the problem?

@pushingfilm

Hey! That little button is for forcing the rewind manually (it can be hard to press, you might need a pen) However, the Stylus will automatically rewind when you reach the end of the film. Take a couple more shots and see if it does; 36 shot rolls can sometimes give you 38

I opened the back tried to roll up and down and everything, thought it wasn't put properly and ofc didn't work. But after months the counting has been resetted. When I click the shoot button it shows 2 and goes on. Does it mean if I develop the new shots it comes up two different shots in one frame or just blank or it is actually okay? I couldn't find my answer in elsewhere, so please should I just toss it or keep shooting and develop it? It is my first time with film cameras.

Hi, this a common fault that I've seen with Mju cameras, where the winding/counting acts up. There is no way for me to know for sure what shots would come come out in your case, sorry... So I guess if you do finish and develop the roll there will be a risk, but it's the only way to find out.

can i remove my batteries when there’s a roll in the camera? will it affect the film roll?
@filmbyhari
@filmbyhari 4 жыл бұрын
Nope, it'll be fine. When you put the new batteries in, it'll resume from where you last left off. Most cameras have a secondary battery for keeping track of the shots taken.
@pushingfilm
@pushingfilm 4 жыл бұрын
That's right! even though some cameras may not have the feature, I'm yet to encounter one that doesnt allow you to do this.

photos on film it won’t affect the roll even when the frame counter reset at 1?
@filmbyhari
@filmbyhari 4 жыл бұрын
@@putrizulaikha9964 It won't reset. It'll continue from the last shot you took before removing the batteries. If you took 10 shots on a roll and took out the batteries, when you put the batteries back in, the camera will simply resume from shot 11. The film won't advance or rewind.

Usually, if you have dark spots showing up in your images (especially at higher f stops) its because of dust on the sensor

I still haven’t figured out the reason why my camera does this, but i put a new film roll in so it says 1 on the lcd but then a couple minutes later, it says 0 and so I pick it up and it starts winding to 1 again. Do you know the reason for this? Is the camera faulty?

Hey, I can't know for sure but it sounds like your camera has a malfunction where it rewinds the roll too early. I've seen these on a few occasions.

Hi mate! Picked up an old point and shoot (AA battery type) went in and asked camera house if they could explain it to me and she wound the film in manually and my counter on top goes from “s” to “21” but seemed to stop quite quickly (around 3 seconds of winding the back wheel) Is this okay? Or have I just wasted a roll of Portra 😭😂
@pushingfilm
@pushingfilm 3 ай бұрын
Hey! I'm really not sure, to be honest. The fact that it went from S to 21 is strange, but that could just be a faulty counter or something else.

Ive been through plenty forums and flckr groups looking for an answer regarding pushing and pulling film on the olympus xa2, hope someone reads this and help a brother out. Due to the nature of the olympus xa2 and its aperture priority mode, if im shooting 400 asa film on a bright sunny day and then i switch to an indoor low light situation, shoot 5 frames at 800 and then go back to sunny conditions, (back to boxspeed) should i develop at 400 or 800?

Hey. I've never used this camera, but looking it up online there seems to be a switch on the front for the flash which has an "OFF" option... perhaps your's is different? Unfortunately, some point and shoot cameras don't let you disable the flash at all.

Hi just wondering if u would no if this okay or not??? (all good if you have no idea ahaha) so I inserted my roll of film into my camera however it made a long wiring sound, so i went into a dark room to check it and it had rewound back into the camera. I just pulled the film out again and it seems fine have i ruined the film?? thankyou so much if u have no clue that’s totally fine ❤️❤️

Hey, really can't be sure! But, when you opened the camera, how much of the film was sticking out of the canister? if it was only a couple of inches it sounds like the camera simply failed to load, and you're totally good to just load it again with nothing ruined at all!
