The occasional sirens and sound of helicopters make this experience all the more intense. I even think sometimes there's a very distant yet desperate scream of a woman intelligible. You can feel the internal and the external aches of war in the thunderesque sounds of bombs falling. I'm not a fan of samples like these in music, but he does it so perfectly. So in harmony with the composition. Woah. One of the most "human" compositions I have ever heard. So much depth and feeling.

something really cool is at 3:35 that noise whenever one of the layers of the song activates and deactivates seems to be the noise of the switch/button being pressed to start/stop it being fed into the delay they were using. truly genius

Yes, The Disintegration Loops is a 10/10 ambient masterpiece. But, it's also easy to forget that the man had OTHER albums that were masterful, too. This is one of them.

Thanks so much for posting this beautiful album with no reterritorialization of capitalism (i.e., ads). I've been listening to this for years now while I read and write. I very much appreciate the uninterrupted flow of these tracks, which facilitates a creative headspace that so many commodities claim to provide but completely fail to deliver. Basinski is an alchemist in a world of charlatans. The fact that this is free for use on KZbin is brilliant, thanks again for making it available DM Cook.

if all the tracks had names that weren’t just numbers here’s what i think they would be 92982.1: _’Rain’_ 92982.2: _’Permafrost’_ 92982.3: _’Sunrise’_ 92982.4: _’Overcast’_

When I first heard The Disintegration Loops it somewhat managed to slightly unsettle me while continually calling me back to revisit it on KZbin. There’s no denying that it is a great piece of music. I love ambient, especially sci-if ambient. But Basinski always manages to somehow frighten/unnerve me. But still, I love it, it is wonderful music. Does anyone else feel the same? ❤

The ghost of Christmas Future showed me my gravestone and there it is written: "You are not your body. Who you are is limitless and without end." But the real trick is remembering that, because the opposite seems so apparent. That's our next evolutionary step as a species - to transcend the physical. Seek out the masters. They are not on TV.

My magic, Like a beacon of light adrift in an ocean of stars from perpetual motion. Inside the hollowed out vessel, soaring in cosmic waves from hemispheres that span a trillion life times over. Our quandary, a misplaced soul in beaten nonsense and disillusioned from never-ending stimulus and pompous looking materialists with our checkbooks dashing out.
