A lovely tribute to the man who bought the character of the Doctor to life. If it wasn't for him, so many people wouldn't have had the chance to play such a widely-recognised character. I think he'd be thrilled to think that Doctor Who is still running to this day. Rest easy Mr Hartnell ❤ 😊

I was right next door that day, shame that I missed it though. Nevertheless, William Hartnell will be remembered as *the* Doctor.

A wonderful tribute to the man who was the first person to play one of TV's greatest characters. He really did have a career that ranged from comedy to serious drama and we're so lucky we welcomed him into our living rooms. He's still chilling in the great TARDIS in the sky God rest his soul Thanks for this ❤ 😊

Would have been nice if we got an interview with Carole Ann Ford and William Russell who were his first companions but nice tribute to the man who was the original doctor. William Hartnell we salute you. 🍾🍸

Man, if only Peter could’ve been there to read his speech himself. Would’ve been that much more special.

Captions / Subtitles might be useful on some of those interviews, but an otherwise great doc on the event.

The more I go back and watch movies from the 40s and 50s, the more I realise what a gifted and versatile actor the first Doctor was. In This Sporting Life, he's a lonely working class closeted gay man. In Hell Drivers, he's a cold-hearted bastard who'll happily put his employees lives at risk to make a quick buck. In Brighton Rock, he's an aging gangster who's terrified of being killed by his younger rivals. In every role he's in, he's completely convincing.
