I think we all can agree what a pleasure it is to watch two people carry out an intelligent conversation about an interesting subject without insults or any other kind of vulgarity. Why can't we seem to do that anymore? Thank you for the video. Always been a fan of William Holden, Thank you.

What a great man, debunking the hunters' claim that their fees actually contribute to wildlife preservation. B.S. He was so ahead of his time, calling out how hunters always chose the strongest, biggest game to shoot, weakening the whole herd .

The real tragedy of trophy hunting in countries with poor governance is that (a) the fees are completely mismanaged and (b) the permitting process is corrupted to maximize the number of permits given. It's an extractive industry wrapped in corruption.

I'm a Vegetarian. I do think it is sick to go Hunting for Sport. Since, it is much healthier to be a Vegetarian- people I know who claim it is OK that they hung animals because they eat them are also doing. Holden mentioned he didn't HUnt anymore, but he didn't mention he was a Vegetariian either. I don't think being a Vegetariian was as a big a thing in the 1970's when this Video was filmed than it is now.

it’s occured to you it’s not entirely free from consequences? and not so much about the high from the knowledge of killing a large animal, which happens all the time and wouldn’t last very long, as the experience around it? and that you’re not nature’s great judge to denounce historically practiced things from worlds you don’t understand? i could say the same about mountain climbing exchanging the endangerment of the animal for that of a human, but who am i to, i’ve never looked into it
