Getting this tone isn't difficult; it's literally just a 12 string with reverb. Playing it correctly however I assume requires magical powers

lyrics: The rain falls hard on a humdrum town This town has dragged you down Oh, the rain falls hard on a humdrum town This town has dragged you down Oh, no, and everybody's got to live their life And God knows I've got to live mine God knows I've got to live mine William, William, it was really nothing William, William, it was really nothing It was your life How can you stay with a fat girl who'll say "Oh! Would you like to marry me? And if you like you can buy the ring" She doesn't care about anything "Would you like to marry me? And if you like you can buy the ring" I don't dream about anyone, except myself Oh, William, William, it was really nothing William, William

@@iainprendergast8311 Haha, you're very welcome mate! Also just want to say that your I Wanna Be Adored cover (and the accompanying description) was what finally made me realise that the secret to that particular tone was an octave pedal. I could never seem to get the sound right, and apparently neither could anyone else I saw on KZbin at that time, until I happened across your version and suddenly it all made sense...still have no f'n clue how you got the ambient intro sounds though!

He's said in interviews they never sped up the tape on the studio version. But watching him play it live at multiple stages (always capoed at the second fret) has me convinced his memory is little fuzzy. Your version sounds great , perfect even. But I'm convinced they sped up the guitar on the studio version.
