To this day! theres nobody in indie music who's surpassed the riffs of Johnny Marr. The guys style was in a complete and utter world of its own.

Girl Afraid sounds like a Western cowboy Riff. You have to remember in the eighties the UK television was bombarded by westerns. Great riffs.

Johnny Marr is so underrated as a guitarist. He’s a very skilled musician with superb compositions, not to mention an excellent executioner of his instrument(i.e.: an awesome guitar player). Congratulations for learning every single note and execute them on the top of each of them. Thanks mate! P.S.: Specially “Girl Afraid”, phew!

There is a Light is an incredible song, one of their best, but the riff isn't really THAT great. Some Girls Are Bigger Than Others and Stretch Out and Wait have some of their best guitar work imo
