When I was in the war and in the desert and looking up at the beauty of those stars in the heavens I couldn't help but know that there was a power greater than mankind that was responsible for all of creation and it gave me a peaceful easy feeling that God was going to see me through and bring me back to my family and my country alive and in one piece,I did make it home to my loved ones as it was not my time to leave this world because God still had things for me to do, but I still miss my brothers that never made it home (33 of them) and until this day I still look up and get that peaceful easy feeling that God is still watching over me and that God is still in charge of this crazy world that just seems to get crazier every passing day,and to the golden family that is singing this I would like to say thank you for the privilege of allowing me to hear this wonderful beautiful song with your golden voices that just made this old soliders day.🇺🇲

Great job with great song! I have always loved to hear the oak ridge boys now I love to hear the goldens. I saw the oak ridge boys at my high school I believe around 1970 or 71 at metcalfe county high in Edmonton, KY. I’ve been a fan that long!

We just lost our band member Scott Pogrelis in April of 2024 to cancer. This was one of the songs we performed every time we played and Scott was the lead vocalist. Always gave me goosebumps to hear him. Now he lives in my mind and heart. I hear his voice. I see his smile. I sure miss him.
