One would need servants and gardeners for this property to exist.

I think the swimming pool might be a natural one, where the plants do the cleaning, rather than chlorine. Thank you for sharing these beautiful gardens. I live vicariously through your videos -- always so peaceful.

Beautiful images and music. Thank you. There is nothing so beautiful as the traditional, rustic-looking English garden. The magnificent, landscaped gardens in the Italian and French styles are also beautiful but they need large extensions of land to be properly appreciated. At a more intimate level, this kind of garden that looks quite wild or natural is a beautiful work of art.

I agree, I love a rustic garden. More wild and natural 🥰 It has a delightful feel to it. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy all gardens, magnificent landscaped gardens included. However I really do enjoy the ‘cottage garden’ vibe.

@@theslowtravelsfamily I fully agree with you. BTW, here is a very nice video about the gardens of Schwetzingen Castle in Germany. The young filmmaker responsible for this has lots of videos. I hope you will like it. kzbin.info/www/bejne/sJvHgmqehZymrrM

What a lovely treat! I adore Morris, and that tapestry room is divine. I appreciate you including quotes from the famous owners of the homes you visit. And what a fantastic sea of hollyhocks! And those lush roses! Fantastic! I agree that the exuberance of the wild gardens at the Mitford home go perfectly with the house.

I thoroughly enjoyed the tapestry room too 🥰 It was interesting reading Morris’ thoughts on the room as well. The whole house was a pleasure to visit, especially as a fan of his work. The hollyhocks were gorgeous weren’t they?! 😍 I would love more of those in my own garden, they add to the whimsical cottage garden aesthetic.

Congratulations. As an ancient historian I have not been to William Morris’s home. This is the best ever film I have seen of it. So sensitivity done. I only have his willow pattern cushions. I will never get to England now. I spent too many years going to France. Will look forward to seeing your film on the Milford’s. Thank you.

Very very nice to look at, just as a painting that we can enter and experience uplifting fantasy. As I sit here typing this on my office chair I covered in William Morris Green Acanthus tapestry, I have to point out that The Arts and Crafts movement had it's downside. In this case I refer to the chalk stream called the River wandle on the banks William Morris set up atracted by the water quality for dyeing cloth and etc, the subsequant pollution was considerable, so in pointing a critical stone at the Industrial revolution, he was forgetting he spoke from a glasshouse. That said we should always carry the best of the past into our future, continuity is a vital ingredient and a heart warming treasure. As always I enjoy being allowed to share your experience and your eye. The Beer Barrels had me smiling...
