Lovely video of Rutland. I lived in Rushden, Northamptonshire till age 44 and agree, so many small villages in England to explore, nearly all with a lovely pub to enjoy a pint of ale. My mother had her wedding reception at the Kings Head in Wadenoe, it was beautiful with just around 30 family members present. Moved to southern Ireland in 2001, which unfortunately doesn't have such charming villages.

Thank you 🥰 Northamptonshire has a lot of gorgeous villages! Without the tourism ☺️ what a lovely place to have lived. I haven’t explored Southern Ireland but my mums family are from Northern Ireland and there are some stunning places up there.. if you can get to see them without the rain 😂

I loved this video! Burleigh House was nice but I liked seeing the thatched roof cottages more - so beautiful and we don’t have little villages like this in US. They all have a pub and church - just so quaint. One day I will get there! In the meantime I have YT. Lol.

What a beautiful tour. Thank you so much for taking your time to share it with us. I have been to Burghley house the other week, for the twilight tour- highly recommend. I will definitly have to see the surrounding area, even Stamford itself is a featurestic town almost taking you back in time to medival England. Really admire your great knowledge. Thank you again xxx Castle Ashby....orangery- Stunning....

Pleased you enjoyed it! 🥰🙏 So glad to hear you’ve experience Burghley for yourself, it’s breathtakingly beautiful in all its ornate detailing and the ceilings are just sublime in every single room! I’ll have to look into the twilight tour 😍 thanks for the suggestion. Stamford is a lovely place, I was hoping to stop by and share it in this video but ran out of time on this occasion. Something for next time ☺️ Happy Sunday! X

Exceptional, exceptional beauty! There are SO many gorgeous villages and market towns in Rutland and Northamptonshire (not to mention the huge wealth of aristocratic country estates). I’ve always called that area the “second Cotswolds” for its strong architectural similarities to the region. Yet of course the villages of Rutland and Northamptonshire have their own beautiful and unique character too; for example with their local materials such as the stone (ranging from pale pink to burnt orange), and roofing (warm Collyweston stone slate to of course thatch).
