Jed Clampett, Capt. Kirk, Admiral Nelson, The Skipper, Capt. Willard and Columbo's perennial nemesis Jack Cassidy and government agent Benedict from The TV Movie The Stranger all in the same film.

What an amazing cast, particularly Cameron Mitchell, William Shatner, Martin Sheen, Jack Cassidy, and Richard Basehart. I would show this to actors' classes as an example of how a cast works together, and how exceptional talent can exponentially enrich an already great play. And Shatner's performance is wonderful and not at all affected. He's present in every scene. And Cassidy's performance is a revelation as well, since he already had a reputation as a great comic actor.

The same issues were raised at Nuremberg tribunal, which is why the chief US prosecutor Robert Jackson in his opening statement said that the complaining party at the bar is civilization itself.

Morality on trial. Critics manifest a shallowness in analyzing historical fact.

I've often wondered why they didn't merely have unknown extras as the members of the court. Cameron Mitchell was the only one that had a speaking role. Why waste the talents of fairly well-known actors who didn't speak one line between them? Ford Rainey, Alan Hale, etc. were totally wasted in the roles as essentially "window dressing."
